Paypal
This paypal thing is out of hand, they do nothing when scammers use their service to steal money. We should all go and spend 1 minute to leave a comment to them via their website. Tell them about NASIOC and the problems here that they facilitate.
I am working at a job right now where i see a lot of internal corporate email. This stuff actually does get through and passed around by the employees as long as you arent an angry abnoxious jerk about it. This problem will kill papal in the end- i have no idea why no one sets up a pay by CC intermediary site to compete. One that has an option where both people have to OK money being claimed from a transfer. Ship your stuff with return reciept and the seller has proof of delivery.

You'll like it until you have a problem. They are fair weather friends. I've had two bad albeit small (under $100 each) experiences with them and they do NOTHING to help you out. My cc company is the one who stood by me.
I no longer use paypal. Www.stormpay.com is a good alternative although it puts the fee on the buyer not the seller. |

Paypal sucks.
I filed a claim for $400 and they denied it. I would call up and ask for clarification and they kept telling me I should be getting a refund, however, they keep denying it. No one I get on the phone seems to know their ass from their elbow. Absolutely useless. I'm working with AmEx now. They seem to be a lot better. |

As a word of caution, always send to a confirmed shipping address. I once sold an item on ebay to a guy who must have hijacked another person's account to pay for the auction. Whe the real owner of the account found out and filed a claim, paypal garnished (they say "held" while the claim was being investigated) the amount in question from a payment I received for another item, with no notice they were doing so. If they hadn't taken my money, I would have been completely content with never using Paypal again and letting them come after me for it (F them). Granted, I was in the wrong for sending it to an unconfirmed address, but I sent them copies of all the email exchanges and everything seemed legit. Why should I be 100% accountable when if they had tighter security measures in place, the account would have never been ripped off in the first place? The bottom line is that they want all the profit of a bank without the responsibility that goes with it. They suck but unfortunately it's become the standard for electronic payments.
