Man, that 135 is sick. They should sell that here, may take some STI customers.

That's awesome. The m135 would be my next car if they brought it over.

A reminder that the 38mpg quoted for the BMW is UK gallons (25% larger than US gallons).. so basically 30.4mpg in the US. That's great.. but not exactly extraordinary for a direct injected compact car.

I too, would seriously consider replacing my MCS with the M135i, if they'd bring the damn hatchback over. I have zero interest in a goofy-looking coupe.

That was kind of hard to watch...its just not as engaging as other shows. I really dislike the way the new 1 series looks and it will be interesting to see how the FWD model changes things in the future. The RS3...awesome car, but I'd probably go for something else for the money.

You looking for explosions and fancy edits? Chris Harris is the man when it comes to car reviews. Plus, he told Ferrari to **** off. I'd say that's legit.

Anyway the RS3 looks nice, and the BMW performs, but the Subaru is the awesomOAR of all things sitting on 4 wheels, of course

Love Chris Harris and his critiques. I get the m135i is more of a drivers car but the styling is not for me. It just looks, i dunno ugly..

Just an opinion...I don't look towards any single source for information and don't favor brands.

So basically the Audi had a faster lap time and was faster in straight line until 140 mph, but he said the BMW "killed it" at the track? It sounded like he had decided which car was going to be faster before he even tested them, and ignored the actual numbers when they showed otherwise.

That BMW is fugly, btw.

I'd buy that 1, looks and all.

Is there a single RWD hatchback in the US?

To just drive around, if money was no object, I'd choose the rs4 for the insane tuning capability of that motor and the fact that it has 4 doors. Realistically though, because of the 25% price gap, Id liley choose the bmw. I mean, that turbo 6 is no slouch.

I thought it was a pretty solid review.

Would love me some M135. Gotta settle for the next best thing though...

An ugly used 135i coupe will be in my future.

I like the 135I. Been trying to decide between a 335i (n54) sedan or 135i coupe. The only thing about the 135i is the droopy pregnant cat look. But i have seen some mean looking 135i's.

If money was an object.. I'd choose the 135i and put $10k worth of mods into it before I'd spend $10k more on the Audi.

Can't even imagine you'd find a way to spend $10k knowing you. $1500 in suspension, $2000 if you want the M3 front end. $500 on a juicebox...maybe downpipes if 380 HP isn't enough for you...

And, well, that's M3 power/weight and handling to match for under $3k.

The more I look at these cars, the N54/55 platforms...the harder they are to ignore.

Recaro seats are expensive.. umm.. I'd have to get the steering wheel covered in real suede. There's the matte vinyl wrap and the $3000 wheels.. Oh, I could spend it, Rexie.. just give me a chance.

My point is, as was Chris's.. the price makes the RS3's marginal extra speed irrelevant to an enthusiast.

That said, Rexie.. be more like hkerekes (who was originally shopping for a 135i) and buy a BOSS instead.

Ugg, I want to love them. I just can't. Tell them to make it 3/4 size, then they can have my money.

When you drive it nothing else matters. The size, the looks, the color, the interior, they all mean nothing when 7500 lines up with the tach needle.

Its big but you dont really feel it, it just dives into the corners and goes where you want it. There is really no need to mod it either, its fast, turns well, brakes well, and makes noise. On paper it shouldnt work but in reality Ford designed a ****ing wild ass machine that puts a grin on your face.

Drove a student's new GT at a track day this past spring. It's areally good chassis out of teh box, certainly better than anything else I've experienced that they've put out. But there's a difference between highly capable, predictable, and fast ( what an engine), and what puts a smile on my face (on a track at least).

An S2000 is comparatively much more fun to drive at 10/10th. Not that the 135 would necessarily be any better than a GT (in fact, it's worse out of the box)...however, my experience with a stock one tells me that, once buttoned down, it's going to feel a good bit more tidy than the GT did. It's just a much bigger car.

There is no reason for it (or many other cars these days) to be so damn big-bodied.

Yeah, I just can't stand my catbelly. Or the 6MT + JB4 + Downpipes + Exhaust + Michelin PSSs. LOL

Sidebar Convo:

Are the DPs really worth it? Something tells me I'd be contented with 370-380 HP vs. something closer to 400.

Expensive? Easy to install?

I was thinking Koni yellows, M3 front bar, BMW performance springs, camber plates, rear wheels all around on 245s, JB4 and call it a day.

Love your color, but I really dig white on that car for some reason.
