Anchorage Red WRX seen on i-Club
The elusive Red WRX has been seen in the Alaskan i-Club Chapter. It's about time! Welcome and I hope to see you at the next meet. I think we will have all colors for a once in a lifetime photo opportunity. Maybe we can get one of each color to line up for a photograph?

glad to be of service
No prob, as long as my profile isn't showing , some ******* put a 4 inch dent in my driver-side rear fender and chipped the paint.

Derrick! What's up you sexy bastard?
I just got your e-mail. I was looking at possibly getting a WRX, but I think I'm going to wait until the dust settles on the STi and Evo VII. If I found one for the right price used, I'd probably do it. Congrats on the ride; in my opinion, the Sedona Red is by far the best color. |

If the Evo does come over, it won't have the front mount IC...

Mirezzi....if you are patient then you could wait, but I think it will be awhile for the STi, and I think the Evo VII's will be rare for awhile. A buddy of mine at Mitsubishi said they only ordered one, but thats probably all they could get initially. But since you now have a 2000 S4, that would not be too hard of a wait I am guessing.
As for the front mount intercooler, I think thats OK, I would not want one up here in Alaska. It would get pretty beat up, and would be a nice snow scoop in winter. But thats just my .02 Kris |

I am incredibly patient for the reason you mentioned.
There are so many difficult factors to reconcile between the STi and Evo VII. Until more concrete information is released about each of them, however, it's premature to make a decision. I lean toward the STi for reliability, but the more I hear about REX transmissions, the more I double take at that conclusion. I have had some completely typical wrinkles to iron out with my S4, but every time, the dealer has been great about it. That doesn't sound like the story from the Subaru camp. However, there will undoubtedly be issues with the Evo VII too. I don't know anything about Pacific Mitsubishi, except, well, they sell s*hit cars at this point. In terms of performance, once again, until we know precisely what each manufacturer is going to offer, all discussion is just speculation at best. |

Yep, that's me (maybe??)
Yeah, I work at the Glacier Brewhouse. I parked there that day. Sorry for it being sooooo dirty, I work 3 jobs so it's not always a high priority. I just washed it tonight . I look forward to meeting you guys and seeing what you are up to (mods and all).

With every meet, it grows. I think on average five people a month. Gotta keep those names straight. Winslow

The EVO will not have a front mounted IC because it will not pass US crash standards...

I saw my first Sedona Red WRX this afternoon. I met him over at Continental where I was ordering some over-priced Subaru parts....DAMN!!
He seemed like a nice guy, but he lives out of town. He already has some 17's on order, and wants an exhaust, intake, and I talked him into a Stage 0 kit. He was going to order the STi exhaust, but I talked him out of it. It is a nice color, even though I am not a big fan of dark red cars. It was good to finally see one in person though. |
