You will not see it from the exhaust until it gets really bad. But you can see it from the oil filler tube much sooner

Then you are probably sucking it through the PCV system into the intake manifold. Pop off our throttle body and check to see if there is a puddle of oil in the bottom of the manifold.
Thats my guess... Team Crawford |

Op before u do anything else. When u go in for the night wipe off the dipstick and put back in, then before u start your suby in the morning check your oil level and see what level it is at then report back.

^^^What good would wiping it off at night do? Also don't check your oil cold. You won't get an accurate reading.

Checking your oil while cold is the most accurate reading u will get and there is a cold level and a hot level. As for wiping the the dipstick off and checking it in the morning doesn't have to be done this way u can also remove the O-ring seal off the dipstick as this acts as a plunger and the oil level won't be accurate on the dipstick. The dipstick doesn't take its reading from the oil pan only from the dipstick tube. |

OP...The dipstick thing...well it can be a pain. I'll check the level, let it sit for a couple seconds, recheck, about five times before confident it's accurate. Might try doing this or develop your own routine as it is difficult at best to get an accurate reading. If you're even slightly mechanically inclined it's fairly simple to do a compression check, a compression tester can be had for cheap. Pulling the plugs can lead you toward the culprit. If one plug is covered in carbon/fouled/oily you know to start at that cylinder, my bet would be on piston/rings, if all of them look bad then it has to be a problem affecting all, pcv, turbo seals, etc. ProToolsKid I know your story can be heard across other brand's service departments but it seams to be increasingly more common here. We have at least two new vehicles to purchase in the next three years, sorry to say it looks less and less like it will be another suby. |
