Default Jersey Shore area Subi specific swap meet..any interest?

Sorry in advance if this has already been discussed/planned/already happening/etc.

I would like to see what the interest level would be in a Subaru specific swap meet amongst enthusiasts like myself, who have a collection of subaru parts, or on the flip side, for those looking for stuff. I know there is alot of activity on here in the classifieds section, and it would be cool to have a swap meet where everyone can display their stuff. This would be geared toward used parts, from guys who just have a collection of things in their garages, etc...not so much a vendor event or anything like that. I know there are events already in place where vendors are present at, and I thought it would be a good idea to try something a little different.

Even though it would be more of a swap, by default im sure plenty of people would bring their Subis, so it could become somewhat of a show as well.

I'd like to organize this event, and depending on success, maybe even make it an annual thing. I know it's hard to get something like this off the ground and make it big, but you have to start somewhere.

I have a few ideas of where to host it(in the Monmouth County area, near the shore). One place I have in mind I could probably get permission to use, and it would provide ample space for an event like this, and would not get in the way of anyone elses business(large parking lot).

We could get an invite going on the NASIOC, and see where it goes from there...if enough response is generated, maybe this idea could become a reality. Do it on a Sunday possibly, so that it would work for most. I know there are alot of Subaru people in the NJ area.

So, respond below with your thoughts on this, and let me know if we could get JerseyShoreSubiSwap2013 to happen.
Thanks
Mike

I'm thinking end of the summer, maybe beginning of fall...that way we would have enough time to have the invite soak on here.

I have a place in mind in Eatontown, NJ that I am going to check into getting permission to use. I live in the area, and it's a good location because all the major roads meet there(GSP, Rt. 18, Rt.35/36 etc..)

I think it coul dbe as simple as just bringing your car/stuff/a table and setting up. I could even make up a pre-registration, and collect maybe $5 per person to have like a cool event decal made up or something like that to hand out...but that's not at all a necessary thing.

Feel free to post any other ideas.

Any chance we could get this going a bit sooner? Then we could just have another one come fall and we'll prob have a better turn out for the second event as people hear about it.

Great idea but don't talk about charging money or anything otherwise your gonna have to become a vendor or something.

Call some local flea markets, they already have stalls and tables, a large lot, and typically charge around 5 bucks for a table for the day.
