any word on R&D on a flex-fuel conversion for the subayota? There is only 1 E85 fueling station that would be close enough for me, and the brz would be a DD and travel vehicle.

500 whp or bust, man! I'm definitely curious about where this engine hits its limit. Grenade the beast!

Stop flaming the guys that want 300+ HP. Those of you touting this as a huge success must be forgetting that the boxer motor has been around for a long, long time and is very adept to making much higher HP numbers. Yes, we know, this engine has high compression and you can't run much boost. Seriously though, I would really expect at a very minimum 300HP, in fact that's what most people were expecting for the base model initial launch.
Props to the people that wanted to make a kit for it, but I would have trouble justifying the type of money it takes to get a BRZ and slap a turbo on it versus buying a RWD fun car that is already pushing adaquate HP.

Am I the only one that while on a test drive thought it drove like a rental car?

Really?

"Most" people were expecting the $25k base BRZ to have 300 HP?

Really?

Only a complete and utter moron would think that was going to be the case.

Not sure where "most people" get these ideas from, but here's an article from 2008 that said it will have 200hp.

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/22/r...2012-or-later/

Here's one from 2009 that had all the specs almost exactly correct (once you adjust for inflation/price of yen)

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/08/r...k-at-toyobaru/

So I guess most people don't know how to read? This car was always going to be 200hp, and yet "most people" seemed to still get pretty excited about these rumors.

It's the stock tires

Last I heard everyone just has other projects going on, the car is fine. Tracks are closed where they are located.

The flex fuel kit is very close to being released I believe.

There is a crawford motor build in the built motor discussion that has more details about their brz.

That's just nasty looking! Can't wait to get smoked by a brz / frs / gt86 with one of these. It looks impressive.
