Saw a close up of the Cobb exhaust on RS sti on their fb site and it looks real good with their logo being exposed on top. I wonder what it sounds like outside and from the cockpit.

why not just buy a base wrx and dump a **** ton of money into it rather than taking apart an sti and putting money into it... i suppose because of the new modeled sti sedans

It is a waste of money to try to make a base wrx into an STI far less a high performance car.

Reason we chose the STi is some of the benefits that it has over the WRX. The 6spd transmission with 3 LSD's and DCCD make it a much more potent vehicle when driven hard. 5X114.3 is also another huge benefit, as the wheel bearings hold up much better. Then the ABS is much more complex on the STi and is designed to work much faster and is more controllable then the WRX.
The new WRX is a great platform and a solid car, the STi just comes with some nice features that are hard to pass up for not much more money.

Were you able to get a wing delete from the factory?

We purchased a new trunk from Subaru and had all the holes get filled and had it get painted. This way we can switch trunks quickly and not have to worry about holes.

Ah, ok. I spent a good 30 minutes at the Subaru booth at SEMA trying to explain to them that some people don't care for the racer wing! I'd have already ordered mine if I knew I wouldn't have to sink another 1-2k into it, just to make it look "right".

I have the same car and when I contacted Cobb about a cat back for 2011 sedans I was told that they do not have one available yet. Is yours a preproduction unit?

Its a prototype system that the production one will be based off after a couple small changes get made.

At this time we do not have plans to turn this into a Time Attack dedicated race car, which is what it would take to be competitive to run in any class.

For something like that another car would be needed to be purpose built.

We hope that Redline comes back to Miller Motorsports Park in Utah.
Great location, and a amazing facility. They ran here for 2 years, and never came back. Rumor has it many teams where not happy with the power loss do to altitude, so the showing was quite small the 2nd year and they never came back ...same thing with ALMS, Daytona and a couple other series.

And putting a face to a name is always nice.
