NO
It depends on what kind of tire you want to run and if you drive a wagon or sedan. There is a very nice sticky thread at the top of this forum. |

the correct offset for any subie wheel will always be the one closest to stock, at least as far as steering response and wheel bearing life are concerned. Stock wheels for the Impreza run ET55 or ET53. For example, there is a Subaru factory 18x8.5 wheel made by BBS which is ET53. in the aftermarket, there are several ET51 18x8's - OZ Superleggera in gold (closeout @ TireRack), Prodrive PFF7, and SSR GT2. Lots more choices at ET48. ET44 would be on the low side, and would likely lead to rubbing on the rear fender if used with a 225/40x18 tire on a wagon. depending upon the tire and lowering springs, it might even be an issue with lowered sedans. unless you just have to own that particular wheel, I'd recommend getting an 18x8 with a higher offset... http://www.miata.net/garage/offset.htm |

+44 is on the low side for offsets. For an 18x8 wheel I would recommend sticking from +48-+53 as others have mentioned. The offsets in this range will be friendly to your wheel bearings and also allow you to run a fairly wide tire without rubbing.
