well - if it's good enough to make money someone will copy it and undercut me...but at least people will think I'm cool

I'm still trying to figure out how to get Toyota 4 pots on a WRX - cheap BBK with reliable components for the masses

the main reason why we didnt pursue it any further was the rotor issue. personaly i think the sleeve inside the OE rotors is very dangerous. sure it might work for a parking brake. so will leaving the car in gear.... what happens if you actually need to use the E brake?

maybe we can work something out with WRXbrakes and put together a package? who knows.
if you want to email me please do.

This sounds fantastic

Will this rotor work with the Legacy? Is the parking brake shoe the same diameter?

It will take some time - rotor tooling is not quick. A few months at a minimum.

I will edit first post to reflect that and check in anytime I have news.

Interested,
but doesn't that mean we are limited to buy replacement rotor from you only and only 1 type of rotor?
No one else in the market would have a replacement rotor of the same size?
I would think it's better to some how adapt the brembo using a bracket to the h6 rotor or subuar 2 pot rotor. (something more common)

If/when DBA elects to make it it will be available from any DBA dealer I would assume.

no - I want to design 2 piece rotors. But it's doubtful I can do it any better than the big boys.

Just to let you know we in the uk overcame this problem with the E brake by just having thicker handbrake shoes made , had them made 10mm thicker than standard that makes up the difference in size , works perfect and does away with the need for special discs or inserts fitted into them , you can just use stock discs , calipers and pads

Cheers Ian

Edited as I have just had a warning by email not to add any details up , so I guess someone doesn't want you to know the easy / cheap way of overcoming this problem.

Good stuff Ian. that's a nifty solution to the problem and I may try that route out.

WRXBrakes...you would kill if you came out with something similar to that.

I was just informed that DBA does intend to make this part - they have released a part number and begun tooling. That means it is still some time before they are available but assuming no unforseen issues they would be here by late spring or so. Pricing is still up in the air - but it appears that we will be able to offer the brackets and rotors for about $650 ish. The rotors are about $450 and the brackets are about $200.

This is only or people who also want the sti brembo fronts too, right? I'm assuming so since the bias has to be correct. I'd think STI rears is too much rear bias for most setups.

This is for installing STi rear Brembo calipers on a R160 rear hub that has a backing plate that accepts Subaru 1 pot sliding calipers.

Most commonly it would be for 02-05 USDM WRX's that have STi takeoffs in front and have too much front brake bias.

It would also fit many Forresters, Legacies, Baja's and older GC cars.
