Question Supposed new pic of WRX Version 7 from JapanCars.com

Uggh my bad, www.japanvehicles.com

Hit the future releases and pan down to August. It is a small pic and the link to the bigger one (I am guessing) does not appear to be working. I can't remember if I have seen this one yet. Looks like a Focus too much for me to believe it completely BUT the company is taking orders now so obviously they believe the image they have.

I still like my 00 better, though this one looks better than the AutoCar pics.

Ummmmm... How do you hit the "future releases" link when there isn't even one there? Also, their image map is so broken that you can't navigate the site normally... what idiot is running that site?

Now THAT looks nice!! Much better than those other pics i've been seeing. Maybe that's the deal, make the nicer ones real nice, make the lesser one, much less?

Just in case noone else has tried it try exploring the directories in here instead. There is no WRX7 directory as the picture wanted to make you believe (the guy writing that page is an idiot too, but at least there was a future release link there. ).

Looks like someone took the spy pics of the black car and finagled it in Photoshop. Dunno... I can't believe that they got two different shots of that car at the exact same looking angle.

Thumbs up

I think this one looks much better than the other version that has been floating around. Much much better. I will definitely get one of these.

I blew it up (although not very cleanly). I only have a pretty basic paint program at work.

I agree with whoever said it looked like a Civic and a Impreza had a kid. I'd still pass on it. I'll wait until I can find the engine and trans in a wrecking yard and get what I need there. Then do the 2.2L conversion that is offered for the EJ20.

I agree with pwrup25RS, it looks just like the black one "testing" at nurburgring. I dont believe it. i like to believe that they wont come out with 2 completely different versions... just my opinion...

Taken from an email discussion:

> I'm starting to the think in the ring pictures they had taped
> on extra stuff at the leading edge of the hoods to cover
> the "ovality" of the lights. I believe they also have taped
> up clear covers from a current model (notice how they sit
> proud) to give the illusion of current shape headlights.

This was just what I thought after looking closely at the black taped car.
If you examine the headlight section, you can see the seams where the
taped on plastic meets the real hood. also, if you look below the fake
headlight on the bumper, you can definately see where the fake plastic
meets the real bumper.
So, [unfortunately,] I think the red oval car is the real thing.
I will post a page later today showing what I am talking about.

So it looks as though the red oval car is real. Although something just
doesnt sit right. With the new car styling trends going away from round,
sweepy headlights and towards more angular, agressive styling, why would
Subaru design a car thats going to look dated before its even introduced?
Also, as a previous post stated, Subaru is being extremely tight lipped
about the impreza until its official launch in august, so why are these
professional quality pics suddenly available?
doesnt really make sense.

The other thing to note on this are the similarities on the rear of the car
between all the "new wrx" shots: the lip at the back/top of the trunk lid,
the spoiler, and then the odd-shaped tail lights. Also note the fenders
betwen the red one and the all back spy pics; they have all the same arcs
and lines. Even the older style rims are the same between both sets of pics. http://teg.net/cars/NEWSTUFF/wrxdisguised.jpg

Those pics are fake. I've seen them before, but the car wasn't on a track, and the wheels were SILVER instead of black. Fake.

Well, if the car is supposed to be moving, the wheels certainly don't covey that.
