Default usd sti or jdm sti?

Hello i currently own a 2005 2.5rs and I want to swap out the motor. I am now faced with a deliema I can either choose a 2.5l 2004 sti or a 2.0l V7 jdm sti.I am relativley new to subarus and turbo charged boxer motors so and of you suggestions will be appreciated.

USDM all the way. i love USDM. my favorite is EJ205 WRX, ive heard you can boost up to 35 psi!!!

there is enough info on here for you to make up your own mind...a lot of people like the jdm because you can rev and boost the crap out of them...some like the usdm bcause you have .5 extra displacement, low end torque, can pass inspection a bit easier...use the search and read

USDM 04 STi. The reasoning: The wiring diagrams are almost identical, it will take a huuuge component out of the swap.

i would go with v7 motor and trans or even like a v4 5 6 ra

sell that 05 and buy a sti. close enough that that be the ideal thing to do.

You are correct.
So you decided to buy a 2005 RS and now you want to do an STi engine swap about a year later? Say goodbye to any resale value you might have had. Sell your car and buy a WRX.

Tearing a 05 anything apart is a waste! Seriously, sell the car and buy a WRX! Or better yet, sell the 05 and get a 99-01 2.5 RS and swap a v6 RA or a v7 into it.
