St. Louis Subaru, Sushi, and Seven Samuri meet
How's this sound. We havn't had a meet in a bit and I need something to break up the monotany of the off-season. So I propose we have a meet. Given the sushi thread and that some people have been missing out on some of the fine culinary arts offered in this fine city, we should do that. Afterwards, the Tivioli is showing the Kurosawa classic Seven Samuri which is a great flick for those who havn't seen it. Hollywood ripped it off to make the Magnificent Seven, BTW, but cowboys don't have swords So I'm going to suggest Wed. 2/19 or, if weekends are better, we could do it Sat. 2/15. I'll contact the Tivoli and find out show times.
Who's interested? Give me enough sake and I'll start speaking really poor Japanese for you Get me really ****faced and maybe I'll wear my gi and hakama

I would love to go...my weekend is Monday and tuesday for now so making it an earlier time would be better and I'll go. I'll probably only be able to make it to eat though....getting up at 2:30 in the morning does have its disadvantages.

I'd be up for a movie but I'll pass on the sushi.
Also, "We havn't had a meet in a bit " What's that all about? Just because you didn't show up to that last one doesn't mean it didn't happen! |

that was like, 2 weeks ago or something besides, that was an install day. i'm sure all of you were constantly focused on the task at hand and had no time to spare for idle chit-chat. I'm thinking pure social goodness with good food and a good movie.
[edit: so reto wouldn't point out my gross incompetance at spelling. yes reto, i'm sure i misspelled incompetance in fully ironic fashion so there is no need to point it out ] Last edited by 10th Warrior; 02-10-2003 at 04:09 PM. |

Fine fine. I'll just drink sake and watch you fools eat your nasty food.

Oh yes, the grammar police is watching you! At least the first part of the meeting is something I'll certainly miss, sushi is disgusting. Unlike sake. I would probably be in for the movie, but it looks it will be happening while I'm out of town. Jeffrey-san drinking sake wouldn't scare me that much, I've seen him taking care of a bottle before.
Install day wasn't a meet? You are so wrong, sir! Let's see: Arrive, talk bs for a while, go for lunch, come back, watch a couple of guy installing a spring, PlayStation, then go drink beer and eat pizza. |

We're going to make the next install day even more fun. We'll mix drinking/wrenching contests in with installs.
Everyone will get blitzed and we'll see who can install an uppipe the quickest. |

I was thinking Nobu on Olive at 170. It can handle a larger group and its not too far from the Tivoli (in the loop in case you enjoy spending time underneath large, damp rocks) I'll call Tivoli tonight and find out about show times.

ok, the movie starts at 7pm at the Tivoli. so dinner may be a bit difficult unless 5:30 or maybe 6 works for ya'll. i can't make it this weekend so i'm not going to organize anything for that post up if you're down for sushi, the movie, or both.

well, due to underwhelming interest and not near enough time this week with the rally and all, i have some stuff to do Wed. night. I'd still be up for getting together for a few drinks with some people around 8ish. anyone want to do that?
