The perfect set up
I am on my 6th motor, 5th turbo and 6th tune. So my question is who has the perfect set up (for you) and what make it so good?
Im running a 2.1 stroker, kelford 272's, modded stock injectors, fp 20g, tomei el header, tvg deletes, meth and a cbe. It pulls hard after 4k and I think i like it. I might even run this one for awhile.

I'm very content with just a vf34 and support mods. It's plenty quick for me, really reliable, and a very usable power band for the street.
There's obviously much faster cars, but for a DD it's tough to beat. I get a little over 20mpg city, 26.5mpg on freeway, and can hold my own on the track. I've run the turbo setup on the car for 80k+ miles with no issues. Sure more power would be fun, but the 6spd does a lot to cover up the lag. It's pretty easy to keep it in the meat of the torque curve. And honestly, triple digits come so quickly it's more than enough power to get in to trouble. |

It's a JDM STi built as a forged 2.1 with an Owen Developments Bolt on Twin Scroll Turbo, now running 2.0BAR peak, 1.7BAR at 7000rpm. It will pull over 2.2BAR, but 2.0BAR is a safe peak to use long term. Engine is mostly stock JDM, no mods to the heads or cams, stock exhaust headers. EcuTek 800cc injectors, Stock ECU using EcuTek MegaRom mapped by Bob Rawle. Still using the stock MAF in a large bore inlet with K&N filter. Still on a TMIC, made by Chevron Motorsport from F1 spec heat exchanger material.
Car is a full weight 1460Kg JDM STi, 4th gear acceleration shows 40 - 60mph = 1.7 seconds 50 - 70mph = 1.5 seconds 60 - 80mph = 1.6 seconds 70 - 90mph = 1.9 seconds |

800cc injectors at 100% duty makes less than 475chp using witchhunters calculator. So what am I missing?

I am using 84% injector duty when running 20% methanol mix at circa 490BHP, and you need 8% more fuel flow compared to the equivilent pump fuel only, when running with a 20% Methanol mix. 99RON fuel is the equivilent of the USA 95PON fuel, it's nothing special, normal everyday super unleaded pump fuel over here. These are well tested injectors and have been used to produce 600BHP on normal pump fuel. |

I was hoping more people would like the combos and post up what they have and why they like it. It doesn't have to be the fastest or the most powerful. Just fun dd's.

I've had multiple set ups on my 02 wrx. Tdo4 full bolt ons and E85, 16g full bolt ons E85, 68hta built motor full bolt ons E85, dom3 xtr built motor full bolt ons e85. All with brake upgrades, built tranny, coilovers, sway bars, etc.
My fave setup so far? Evo X stage 2. By far, hands down, the best set up I've ever had. Last edited by rexblake; 12-02-2012 at 09:34 AM. |

Lol he asked favorite setup! Never said it had to be a Subaru. Quite frankly, after all the cars I drive before I bout the X, I'll prolly never own another soobie. Unless the BRZ STI is just amazing, as in, significantly better than a boss mustang 302 or Porsche cayman. At least on par with those two and significantly cheaper.
