It is just hanging. It's in a gauge cup and held on with self stick industrial Velcro.

Wow, that's a big turbo. What numbers did it make? Do you have a plot? I haven't seen many 3G WRX's running big turbo's.

I thought you didn't have a stock gearset, but I didn't see it in your OP. Maybe I'm blind

This post got bumped and is actually from a while ago. A couple months after this dyno my third gear went out at the track and the gearset was replaced. Currently I should be at around 480WHP, but I haven't been back on the dyno recently.

The Blouch turbo doesn't isn't a traditional TD05/TD06 20G setup. It is a Garrett 30R Ball bearing CHRA, 56.5mm turbine wheel, 68mm compressor wheel, with 8cm exhaust housing. Blouch rates it at 47lbs per min. Even with that flow rating, the numbers may seem generous, but that's what they are. MAP is an independent dyno (ie. they have done no labor or tuning on my car), so I don't see any reason they would alter the numbers. |

Why quote compressor wheel exducer size? Basic power capability comes from inducer size...hence why that's how classing is done by the NHRA, IFO, etc. If you are going to tell someone what turbo you're running, tell them 52mm People are going to look at you pretty funny if you tell them you only make 480whp on a 68mm turbo |

I thought 20% sounded high. Maybe that's realistic. I wouldn't mind telling people I have 600HP. Lol.
Blouch specs exducer size. I haven't measured the wheel myself. Without a compressor map I'm not really sure how to interpret the turbo specs. Not sure what to tell you. |

Yeah. Idk what the dyno numbers mean. They're just for fun. The car seems like a lot of fun. It makes it through 50-100mph in 4.3-4.3 seconds.

that airboy seems pretty damn high. when i was making 450whp in airboy it was like 530whp in VD.
you got any plans to go to the track? Have you compared your MAFv at lower boost levels at redline? I think you could probably lower the boost at high rpm and not lose any power |

I haven't specifically monitored MAF voltage vs boost but I did recently compare boost vs VD power and it showed good gains all the way up to my current boost levels. |

Most turbos I do in that size range do not actually flow more air when u keep cranking the boost up at redline. I especially don't get results like yours and pick up 60whp with a 2psi increase at redline. That's almost unbelievable. Do u have the mafv plots that correspond with the above graphs?

Sorry, I did not log MAF or even AFR on these runs. It was just a very quick/basic look at how my acceleration changed with changes in boost. I did take speedo vids of the runs and saw a 1/2 second decrease in 50-100MPH time for each change in boost.

Ron,
What will it take for me to get another 50hp with the same setup? Can you bump up my boost and fuel to get me numbers like xlubens? |

you car boost wise is between his lowest and middle boost levels. your idc's were in the high 80's in near 100* temps....so yes you would probably need bigger injectors or pump and direct wire (dont remember if u had those off the top of my head).

im looking at this FP... http://www.ebay.com/itm/E85-WALBRO-4...f7d2ec&vxp=mtr
I thought my fiveo ev14 1200s would have plenty overhead... 400 lph + rewire ought to provide more flow. What do you think? |

If you can make that fit into the 08+ housing, let me know. I wouldn't mind switching to that one too.
