Subaru Stars 2008 Impreza Countdown

Found this on the SOA web site.

http://www.subaru.com/sub/misc/2008/...own/index.html

Finally, no more cobbled together photoshop pics or out of focus spy shots of the new car as the 2008 Subaru Impreza will debut at the New York International Auto Show on April 5. 2007.

I could stare at that countdown sign...for about 3 seconds I am being patient and can wait until April 5 to see the "real" new Impreza...since I will have my '06 for several more years to come.

Funny guy, I don't get offended by useless banter on a forum especially from someone with your reputation. For such a Subaru junky as yourself you should know that the pics you have seen are almost gauranteed to look nothing like the actual car that will be unveiled.

speculation, sure, but all the different pics floating around are pointing towards a pretty similar overall design... but we'll see. Here are some other speculated pics of what it'll look like...

All the spy shots and photoshops will probably be in the ball park of what will be revealed on April 5th.

That being said, I think I will skip a generation of impreza before getting a new one. It looks interesting, but a little too "ford focus" for my tastes. Well, I might cave if the STI has the numbers :-P

I hope everyone is tempted to buy..............from me of course

Speaking of ugly, the new B9 Tribeca aka. "Chewbaca" or Chewy for short will debut it's new looks as well.

I agree with the other posts. We have a general idea of what the new car will look like but actually seeing the real thing will be great.

I understand where you're coming from.

Every year there is a drastic change, but the new pics show that this gen isn't as drastic as the others. I love the dual exhaust tips. With an H4, I can't see why they didn't go with a true dual exhaust complete with x-over pipe.

Amarpauld, my banker says I may have to sit this generation out.

My little 2.5i? hehe, I was unsure of the "look" of my car to start off with...but now I am extremely happy with the exterior. Although, I do have a few more subtle plans for the front end in the next few weeks. sshhhh

If the new STi is actually a decent amount better than the 06 it might be worth looking at. It would be kinda odd to buy a 55k hatchback though.

6th gear you work at specialty right? Do you guys actually do STi testdrives for people who can afford the car? I asked one of the guys at Saunders recently what would be required of me to take out the older one they have there and he just laughed at me. I wasn't too impressed.
usually they want a deposit first and you have to be very interested in buying it..

The test drives really depend on the dealer. If they think you're serious about buying then they'll let you... either that or if they don't have much to do they should be happy to let you try it out as long as you don't **** kick it. Try DD, their staff is usually really good and they're not commission based so they're not going to pressure you into buying their cars.
