I'll add that you will remove your existing dust cover that is riveted to your current backing plate- simply drill the rivets out, pop it off and spray a little paint where you drilled to insure no rusting

Oh yeah, I noticed that the 08 has the same front pads as 03-05 the other day.
Rear rotors, according to my info, are 286x10. That 274mm rotor seems to be on all 05+ non-GT Legacys/Outbacks. I wonder what the regular 08 impreza has. Or is it only available with drums? Here's a handy brake pad shape spreadsheet I got from EBC: http://jamalb.net/stuff/Subaru%20dplates.xls |

no they are all the same. Some parts counter guys will just refuse to do anything without a vin mostly because they're lazy.

Will the 4 pots fit on under the Legacy GT (98) stock 16" wheels? I have a good chance to get some for free, with rotors, and brackets. in exchange for my 2 pots.
Also what about the rears? |

I just wanted to add a few pennies here, although this may have already been covered elsewhere (although it is not listed in the FAQ).
There are FWD Imprezas, mostly the LS and some LX models, that come with rear discs, both in ABS and non-ABS models. Incidentally, the Rear Discs for the FWD Imprezas also come in 4x100 and 5x100 patterns (some of the first generation Imprezas came in 4 or 5-bolt). If one can source a rear-disc equipped FWD Impreza, they may get an RSB out of the deal, too. But the drum-to-disc requirements still stand, it's just that the source pool is a little larger. Hope this is of some use. |

2008 Jap Spec WRX comes standard with 316mm front rotors now.
These are the same discs that have been on the Liberty (Legacy) GT since 2005. The Liberty had twin piston calipers though. Umm! How many years did it take for the USA to get the four pot calipers... 114.3mm PCD by the way. |

Wait, what? the 2008 JDM WRX is 5x114.3? It uses the good hubs?

This reminds me, what do the Japanese teams bolt on to an STI for "group N" brakes? The caliper/rotor combo would have to clear 15" rally rims, but would have to bolt onto the 5x114.3 hub bodies.
