Disconnecting stock BPV recirc tube

I don't want to buy a BOV since they are so frowned upon, but would kind of like to experience the sound for a little while. Never been in a vehicle with one.

If I were to disconnect my recirc tube and plug it, would it be any worse than running a BOV? Would I be able to hear anything or would it be dulled down since it's pointed downwards?

Not super serious, just curious, not some ricer swagboy.

disconnecting the recirc tube is just like running an atmospheric BOV.

and makes your car run just as ****ty.

you want sound? get a decent intake and a good bp valve. you will hear the blowoff sound AND the car will still run like it should.

I imagine if you plug it, no "good" sound would be produced. Imagine Siamese elephant twins joined at the ends of their trunks.

If you remove the silencer on your intake you can hear the stock BPV. Only at higher RPMs though.

You mean the stock intake scoop/snorkel? My car came without one so it's just the airbox, can't hear anything really though.

look under the aibox.its is a milkjug looking thing. its an intake silencer. you can remove it and cap off the opening.

actually on OP's car its in the fender....

You can hear the stock BPV with the silencer gone, definitely not as loud as BOV, but you can hear it.

Yeah, it comes off the airbox but it's tucked under the fender.

Negative. It connects TO the airbox on the passenger side. It is hidden away inside the fender. There is no room for anything under the airbox.

I dont have anything in my fender at all, I see the holes where the snorkel would be and got the block off plate from Subaru, the hole in the airbox is not blocked but there is never any debris in the airbox.

I will be able to borrow a friend's bov for a couple days in mid december so that'll have to do. Gonna be ricey but it'll turn heads, not many modded cars around here. Haha
