Impreza GC8 Any reason not to buy?

Hey guys,
I've got this rally blue 1999 2/DR RS that im looking at buying soon, but i was wondering if anyone knew of any reason why not to buy this 1999 and instead waiting to see if i come across a 2k or a 2k1 to buy instead?
I used to own a 2001 and loved it but im kind of cautious with this 99 knowing that its the "first" model year.
Any feedback or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Even though subaru makes great stuff, my creed (and many other ppl) is that I never buy the first gen of any vehicle due to all the problems they have.

This far into it I would assume just the body rot, considering anything that went wrong first gen wise would have already gone wrong by now.

Might be a shot in the dark
