Ya it's was $300 from speedware motorsports in redmond. it would've been 250 since they have a coupon for $50 off on there website, but I had them raise the height too

I had yellow film on my headlights and foglights on my first RS for well over a year and never once got messed with. It's not illegal to have yellow lights. However this was about 4 years ago so who knows if cops are anal about it now.

Pic for reference

It has ALWAYS been illegal to have your MAIN lights be any other color than white. SECONDARY lights, ie fogs, are allowed to be yellow.

You sure about that now? I cannot find any RCW that clearly defines what color headlights have to be. There is laws for other lights though. It It could be buried within other RCW's but I didn't find it.

http://apps.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.37.040

The only mention of it is through the SAE which states "all headlamp bulbs must be white in color as defined by Society of Automotive Engineers and FMVSS 108. FMVSS 108 disallows any color coating on headlights and or headlight bulbs."

However, I think you can find a loop hole if you were to get pulled over based off the fact this is not mentioned anywhere in an RCW.

RCW 46.37.100
RCW 46.37.210
or
RCW 46.37.150

all state:
"white or amber light"

this is where you argue that "yellow headlights can be called amber".

so, I'll adjust my statement:

99% of you guys that have yellow headlights, do so because of 3000K hids, and those most definitely are illegal. Hologens behind yellow film is just fine.

****, i got beat to the punch....

oh well

Since i just searched, show me where in the RCW(since your in wa) that it states what color the headlights have to be. It just states they must display light for a set distance.
Your side lamps and tail lamps have a set color that is clearly defined.

To help you and to help me since maybe I missed it...

Not trying to argue or prove you wrong so don't get butt hurt like the typical NWIC'er. I am just stating what the RCW says and how it can be fought in court. None of the RCW's clearly say your "headlight" must be clear. It does say you need amber clearance lights and signals. Another RCW states you need a clear forward facing light. This does not mean it has to be a headlight.

this is exactly the comment/statement I was trying to find for my rebuttal, but I couldn't find it.

Show me someone that has yellow film on their lights AND a clear forward facing light that can be seen from 1000ft (another RCW states this) away....

Most people do exactly what you guys did, which is put yellow film on each set of lights. I think it looks cool, no doubt, but saying that it is perfectly legal can't be true.

Oh I agree that no one would have both yellow headlights and a clear light facing forward, that would be stupid. I was just trying to show that if you were to get ticketed for it you could at least try and put up a fight to get it dropped.

*knocking on wood...* Yeah I also have 3000k hids and its sooo yellow at night. Ive also had my euro plate for a year and a half now and cops hasnt given me any trouble whatsoever. Not saying they wont, but oh well they might as well ticket me for my tint being too dark and my exhaust too loud also! Lol
