If he has to answer the phone while working on my car so-be-it. I couldn't care less, it's part of the business and to be expected. Hire someone to answer the phones if you're struggling to keep up. Sorry for the thread hijack. Last edited by toph; 11-08-2012 at 10:05 AM. |

So you are going to risk 10k because you missed a phone call? Some people are the nicest people all sucking your butt, then when something is wrong they tell you to kick rocks. Although you may feel ignored, personal feelings aside, sometimes people are just busy. That doesnt change the fact that they are really good at what they do. Seriously unless you were like discriminated upon or something, is it that a big of a deal?

I would rather wait and have it done by some of the best in the business. Its your decision like I said previously, I would rather this didnt litter my thread.

No big deal guys. I don't want this guys business anyway.
He assumed I blew him off. He had no clue how important the phone call was or how busy I get. I couldn't just tell the person "hey thanks for calling, but I'm waiting for a call that might not come in". (Most people don't call when I tell them to anyway) I was on the phone for two hours which ran into my tune times and customers who were standing in my shop. I was going to call him back when i got off the dyno when i saw his post that he made the same day... didn't even give me a chance to call him back. I don't want to do business with someone who has no patience and makes assumptions like that or gives the "i was going to spend $$$" crap. We build the best engines around, period. The line is long and sometimes you have to stand in it. |

$10K is probably the minimum in this business. Don't make it sound like you're the top 1% of the customers out there. Heck! Alex spend more than that on the driver side of his engine bay!

I honestly don't think Dom even works on price point though. My initial build plan was a lot less than I eventually chose to spend and I got the same treatment throughout. Actually Dom sliced hundreds of dollars off my rods because the supplier of the MPS in house long rods was having control issues at the time and he refused to use a part outside of tolerances. I ended up with the best Saenz 1200hp rods for a very small price difference and literally no profit to himself. It's things like that that make it worth being patient and calling twice. Plus I'm surprised Dom can even here the phone over the dyno! Lol |

No reason to keep cluttering up this thread.
I appreciate the defense guys, but I think we're passed that. Leave the poor guy alone. |

2) I don't care about Facebook 3) I'm glad you're willing to wait weeks/months for your motor. I on the other hand only ask to be kept in the loop and to make it seem like they want my business. I'm not asking the guy to bow down to me or drop what he's doing to take my call, I just want some sort of communication. I'm done hijacking this guys thread. I would still love a quote if you ever have time. I think you still have my phone number or e-maill atleast. -Chris |

No thanks Chris.
We are closed mondays. Tuesday was the first day back after being closed for 10 days. The voicemail announcement stated we were closed. I came back to 94 voicemails, multiple PMs, 88 emails etc. I can't physically get a response to all those people in one day. That's something that people need to understand. I ship engines all over the world. We are three guys trying to meet the demands of the globe. I am hiring more people and we're working very hard over here. Well I have been thinking about a list of things I still need to tackle on the car:
Re-tune Fix meth system New front brake discs 6 Speed Fix p/s leak Re paint wheels (maybe a different colour) Repair door dings / minor body damage Lip kit I'm sure there are other things I'm missing. I did just get a new job as a service advisor but now for Subaru not Cadillac! |

Well a little bit of good news, Subaru is covering my p/s leak under warranty. That's about $1000 I don't need to think about.

I'll tell you guys, when I bought my FXT as a lease turn in 35k miles it was cherry absolutely perfect and they gave me the factory 100k gold warranty in the deal. I pretty much knew what I was gonna do with it. I had the parts manager introduce me to the local Subaru rep Dave. I told him what my plans were for the car and he told me that I would be responsible for what I did but that he would take care of his end. He definitely did. When I stripped 5th gear out of my stock tranny on the third pull one night, he approved the full rebuild/ repair at $2500!

It would be pretty cool if there was essentially 4 types of Impreza's:
Base: N/A, 150hp RS (or some other name): TD04 turbo or similar, non-forged internals, 5 speed, small TMIC, 200-250hp WRX: VF52 sized turbo or slightly smaller, forged internals (or not), 6 speed, larger TMIC, 250-300hp STi: GT30 sized turbo or maybe bigger forged internals, 6 speed, FMIC, 400hp+ |
