Default a dirty GC from the pacNW.

hey!

so, my car is far from finished -- i constantly refer to it as a work in progress -- but i thought i'd snap a few pics to see what people thought so far. please keep in mind that it isn't even near completion, especially aesthetically!

it has a ton of dings, dents and a few battle scars -- like above the rear passenger taillight -- but i love this car. every mark, scratch and dent has a story... whether they are from a rallyx, some mad doorrriiifffttooooo action gone awry, getting stuck in the mud on various offroad excursions or just the time i forgot i parked next to a steel pole in the parking garage at school. (sigh)

it needs a lot of love still, but i think it's coming along nicely. it's pretty incredible to drive, especially coming from having driven it with the stock 2.5L N/A motor in it for yeeeaaars. haha.

near future mods are jdm tails, new seats (on which i am currently still undecided), getting the dents/dings and the damage on the rear quarterpanel fixed and trimming up the spats so they sit flush against the usdm bumper. oh, and replacing those little orange vents beneath the turn signal after painting them black -- someone STOLE mine. wtf?

long term mods are 6spd, cf hood and trunk, roll bar... then in the spring/summer some big wide rollers.

yeah, i know people are going to hate the wakaba badges, but i've liked them since the days of the JDM craze, back when i was into hondas... right around the time i registered here, actually. and i know the car is a little low for some people. but hey, it's my car and.. well, i like it. i hope you do too.

anyway, here we go.

2001 subaru impreza 2.5rs.
ej257 swapped, sitting at stage 2 currently.
lots of mods... catless TBE (titek dp/greddy evo2 exhaust), racing logic coilovers, jdm legacy 17s, coupe spoiler, ver6 lip/spats, jdm wrx cluster, sti steering rack (easily one of the best mods i've done), ap v2, depo clear corners, etc etc. i'll rattle off a full list one day but i'm not up for it atm.

pix! (yes, the car is dirty - yes, the pics were taken with an old p&s - yes, parked on the street is not the greatest location for pictures to be taken... i'll put the effort in for some actual, quality pics when the exterior is up for it. right now taking pics with my dslr would be kinda similar to... mick jagger in 1080p. old and scary.)

man, these next 2 are really bad quality. i apologize... really. haha. i'll get better pics one day.

again... sry4badquality.

i'm getting good at converting kph to mph in my head.

i'm in this picture... oh hi tharr.

and the money shot.

and i dont care what anyone says...

shih-tzu's are awesome little gangster dogs. CDM, y0!
i dont know who put that red bow on her, though... but it makes me angry~! ahahaha.

huge thanks to:
sean, jeremy and especially andrew @ rallitek for making this swap happen for me!!!
silver bullet 2.0 & bullhead gears for the great hookup on some sweet coilovers.
peter @ prodriven auto for the awesome motor!
my pops for all the support.

and of course...
my girlfriend, for putting up with my crazy obsession and my impractical, harsh and loud car.

well, thanks for taking a look. let me know what you think! as i continue to build the car, mod it and add more to it i'll keep posting pictures in this thread. like after i wash it, one day. keep an eye on it for updates, if you care! haha.

Yeah, I am planning on it actually. I've been keeping an eye on the NW classifieds... just waiting for a good deal to scoop one up.

Yeah? Hmm, I'll have to check that out, although I have actually gotten quite accustomed to rolling in KPH. If I'm ever in doubt, I always have my AccessPORT to tell me what MPH I am traveling as well. Thanks for the heads up!

so, i gotta ask... what exactly is it about my car that screams "sleeper"?

i'm not going for one look or another, i'm just curious how it ends up being sleeper-ish. its pretty loud, the dump valve is incredibly loud with the intake (like BOV loud), so maybe in person it's not quite as sleeper-ish. i dunno.

Changed up a couple of things, took a few pix...

Due to popular demand, amber corners are back on:

Installed some Sparco pedals I had kicking around gathering dust for oh... roughly 4 years. They match the stock STi pedal I used for my swap pretty well. You can also see the relocated OBD-II port and my $6.99 universal cell phone / AccessPORT holder.

And just some misc pix:

Feels great with the stock tranny... crazy fast. I just don't launch it and I baby it through first and second gear. I'm running an Exedy Stage 2 clutch and the stock flywheel. Really, I am pretty gentle on the transmission. I will be replacing it soon enough though. Only power mods are a Walbro 255lph fuel pump, Injen short ram intake, TiTek catless DP, GReddy Evo2 catback and an APv2 stage 2 OTS map.

Haha, thanks man! I like the amber too. I got those stickers today! I left to take these pics and when I came back the envelope was sitting on my doorstep. I just put them on a minute ago!

Thanks to everyone for all the comments.
