you're right, the interior isn't really my taste, but to each his own. I do like what you did with the cf overlay on the grill and accents on the rest of the trim..that looks really good, and obviously nice job with the build, lot of power and room for a lot more still. nothing worse than spending a ton on a build and maxing yourself out powerwise and have to start basically fresh to go bigger again

Well its been a few months so time for another face lift. Unfortunately about 2 and a half months ago I took a truck tire to the passenger side of my INGS bumper on my STI. It took about 27 hours worth of labor but I think it came out better then new. With that being completely refinished I decided to give doing a clear bra a shot as well. I think it came out great for a first time working with the material. Also changed up a few things but only slightly.
Also got out and shot the evo as well since I've added a few small cosmetics to it. Red out third brake light, amber turn signals, RA flaps, SS antenna, carbon wrapped window trim. CBE is on order, got a great deal from the same company that makes the current TBE I have on my STI. Dual 4.5" burnt Ti Tips should look and sound much better then it is now!

As always C&C is appreciated

Time to shed a little weight!

I would like to thank Circuit Motorsports as well for taking care of the order and keeping me up to date with the shipping. They took about 3 months to get and communication between buyer and seller was excellent despite the long time frame. I will definitely be doing business with them again when it comes to large special order items.

I have a few its beena while since I've updated here

First off Fortune Auto Suspension.
Originally I purchased a track duty set of dreadnaught coilovers from them. I rode them out for about 11 months and finally I gave up on them. Not because of they way they performed because they never let me feeling uncomfortable in the turns. Daily driving was just not something they were made for. They were stiff as anything not my main complaint but it is the first.

Second was adjusting of the dampening. dampening adjusters were on the bottom of the struts so I would have to jack the car up raise up the suspension to get the adjuster into the adjustment hole and make my adjustments from going on to off track.

Next there are no dustboots because of the size of the front struts. The struts required cleaning and lubrication with my mileage on the street every 2-3 weeks.

So finally I called up Fortune Auto and said that where as there is nothing wrong with my suspension that I was just unhappy with my purchase. Now I was looking for a possible discount on a new set of street suspension but wow did FAC blow my mind with there response and how I was taken care of.

Dreadnaughts being a track duty coilover only came with a limited warranty. There was nothing physically broken or wrong with my coilovers but FAC offered me a free replacement with a brand new set of 510 v4's with new custom swift springs and roller bearings. Furthermore I did not have to deal with downtime with cross shipping times because FAC invited me to come down to there shop in VA being I'm only in NJ.

Anyways these guys are great to deal with, nice in person they showed me around met everyone from sales to the guys building the suspension. Went over the improvements from the previous models without me even asking. swapped suspension with them no problems. I'm off and been riding on the 510 v4's for about 3 months now happy as can be, and with new made friends at FAC!

Next no biggie but I just re did my interior from the matte red small print camo to large print glossy red camo. swapped my headunit from the old sony to a brand new Pioneer DEH-x9500bhs. I wanted bluetooth functionality which my old HU did not have and I never really get a bulky double din because I never use the monitor for anything.
Also replaced my flossy shift knob with a custom WC Lathe Werks Hybrid Piston knob with SI drive dial. I love this thing never in my mind would I have thought spending nearly $200 on a shift knob was a good idea but the copolymer it is made from is perfect never hot never cold. It makes the whole driving experience just that much better since I drive the car every day.
sorry for the poor quality picture I'll update with hi res when I get a chance I literally just did this last week.

Next my ERZ quad catback broke 3 hangers, probably because of all the increased hp and stiffened hangers. I got my money worth out of it I got my whole TBE from them at the time for $300 shipped. I got 2 years out the catback so I'm not complaining. I replaced it with a Greddy TiC Single Boom cannon which luckily enough RallySportDirect had a steal of a GB going on for like $399 shipped so I hoped right on. It fits the bill, its light, it fits perfectly I'm happy.

I hit up OCAWD,WBM the next day and also tested the car out at Evo Vs STI day at englishtown. I faired well in real world racing I edged out an FP black charged Evox GSR but was beat by .1 seconds by a gutted shop evo vii on slicks. So not to bad IMO for showing up entirely in street trim, full interior, street tires.
Theres a video from the event which I really liked seeing. You can see me launch the balls off the car right around 1:43

Next the only problem I have had with the car which I'm working on fixing right now is my power steering pump leaks and whines. I've since ordered a new P/s Pump, res, lines, and rack to have the whole system replaced. I've gotten a quote from Akuma to have the work done but I'm contemplating making an appt and making the trip to IAG to have the work done so I can get some new mapping done.
At the time I went to get tuned speed density was just released by cobb so I went with a standard MAF tune. It runs fine but it does get finicky it colder climate at low rpms she can be quite easy to stall. Also the 73mm maf is almost maxed out just at 22psi. So I was planning on having a hybrid tune done for daily driving as well as a race gas tune done on hybrid to hopefully get closer to 500awhp on stock heads and tmic.

whew I guess a good amount of things have changed but I'm mostly happy that the car is still holding up well despite my power steering issues but that is just a failed subaru part, $hit happens.

Big thanks to Rick, JJ and the IAG crew as always for doing a stellar job with the install. Sean from Vigilant Motorsports for building the best SB money can buy. 20k miles and she still runs as good as day one , doesn't burn any oil I'm running 10w30 conventional for winter with 3k mile changes.

more updates in the spring once I finally choose some wheels and get the fenders sprayed and installed along with some other choice components.

Well it looks like I've managed to piss off the new neighbors. Not that I particularly care or anything but I was just wondering if I had any legal obligations that I could be held accountable for.

ITs not like I live in a condo or apt where I signed a contract or have a community with hoa or rules or anything. I bought my house in cash in full so besides pissing them off and the chance having a cop stop me while driving and issue me a noise violation is there anything else that could or has been seen come of something like this.\

My gaskets are all in tact brand new mostly, I have a full exhaust system with resonator and muffler, I don't go down the street opening up the ewg thats for sure, and I leave for work at 1130pm.

Things like this piss me off when whoever asks you to bend over and do something to better suit their life style, but do I complain when neighbors are cutting the lawn and making noise when I need to sleep during the day...

ERZ dual CBE on the EVO x stoc downpipe, manifold, turbo

Tomei EL headers, ERZ catless d/p, Greddy TiC CBE on the STI. Yes its a louder setup but I still have a resonator and muffler. Its not like I'm popping the EWG off on my side street either. I'm guessing its probably one pissed off old man talking like its everyone.

I've only had compliments from the neighbors directly across the street from me and next door saying how they are lucky to have me as a neighbor. I turned my current house around in 3 months with new windows, brand new roof, driveway and landscaping.

They can't really do anything as long as you are not racing up and down the streets and going crazy at your house with a dyno. That is something they will have to live with....how many of them are renting their house vs you who owns yours

You could write the same note back. "I sleep during the day, because I work at night and do not appreciate you cutting the lawn with a gas powered lawnmower, i'd appreciate if you could get an electric one, or a hand powered one, or CUT EACH STRAND USING SCISSORS."

In all reality, yeah you've made your car sound this way, but it's not like you let the car idle for hours while they sleep. You own the house, they cannot kick you out of your neighborhood.

If you live in a tax district, where your "community" can vote on a matter, then they can all ASK you to put a muffler on it, but by law, they cannot make you.

Now, they can call the police for a public disturbance, but the cop would have to catch you in the act of starting your car right before you went to work, and issue you a ticket, of which, lets be honest, is going to be pretty hard. But that's about it.

Since you leave for work at a predicable time its pretty easy to see how this will play out with the cops and an angry neighbor. I used to have to cruise at 5mph in my sub division with my Evo X running a ETS V2 Extreme. I was super careful to feather the gas because any nudge at all made squirrels fall out of trees. I was way over local ordinance but I was super careful. I will never get that loud again. Not worth the drama.

I don't see how it'd play out. The cars probably running for a total of 3-5 minutes maybe before he leaves for work. That means they'd have to wake from bed, call the cops, and a cop would have to be dispatched, and then drive to the address, all within 3 minutes. A noise complaint rates pretty low on priorities of a police officer as far as "investigations" go, that's why I don't see it playing out.

They call 15 minutes early, and his cars not started, cop shows up, he's still inside getting ready, it'll be viewed as a false report, and are even less likely to show up the next time around.

Anyone who would take the time to write that letter probably lives to create problems. If there really are multiple neighbors involved the cops will eventually pay attention. We will see! Subscribed.

Amazing build man, great attention to detail and good quality.

Any update since January on how the block is going? How many miles? Any consumption?

Well all I can say are good things. Its been about a year and a half, just turned 31k miles on the build 75k total on the chasis. I changed plugs, trans gear oil etc 3 weeks ago and did a compression test at the same time and every cylinder on a cold motor read exactly identicle.
Oil consumption is less then 1/2qt per 3k miles on the shell 15w-40 during summer months, 10w30 on the colder ones.
Pulled my ic at the same time for the first time since it was built and not even a film of oil was present anywhere.

Reason why you don't see me updating often is because I have had no problems.

I still want and need to retune for hi boost ~28psi but I bought a new house in March so that's been my main focus.

Most of all thank you for the compliments sir.

So almost a year and a half later this is still going on. Thought I would update for anyone who runs into a situation like I am.

Tonight I got pulled over my local PD.

I wasn't doing anything wrong and I didn't even go much over 2500 rpms because I saw them sitting outside my house.

Anyways I'm pretty sure I was issued the summons after she told me she was going to issue me the load exhaust ticket. I asked her if I would have to get out for her to measure the db of my exhaust properly with a calibrated monitor.

She never said she thought my exhaust was loud she only said that my neighbors were calling and complaining.

Also not sure if it matters but where I was pulled over she was following me for about 1/2 mile was not the road(s) indicated on the ticket.

anyways I found this

So i'll be going to court in a few days because as far as I can tell I am within my every right and I was even unjustly prosecuted given shes using her judgment as a reference for sound measuring. I'm going to get my car inspected by the state DMV this week so that will prove I have a properly installed and not leaking exhaust system.

Regardless the ticket is a $54 offense I'll need to rack up about 20 of them to compare to buying a new CBE and then there's that moral aspect....

That's the culmination of your neighbor(s) calling the police all the time over the past 1.5 years. They likely could care less about your exhaust but their sick of getting calls and you are ultimately breaking a state law and or local ordinance. You really should get a cut out that allows you to be quiet when you want/need to be and loud when you want to be at the flip of a switch. Everyone is happy.

I'm thinking about going to get a 2015 challenger R/T scat pack. 485 hp which is more then I have now just have to give up the awd and gas mileage is close to the same. The 6.7; is a solid long running engine so I'm not concerned there.

Should be close to the same exhaust volume in stock form but no one will be able to do anything since its a factory car.

Going to see what my STI will get appraised for at a couple of dealers this morning. Its paid off and the challenger goes for about 40k+ tax so I'm hoping to get OTD without having to pay more then $15k cash. If they can do that I'll pretty much be sold.

regardless the case is still ongoing, I'm actually going to trial over it because the prosecutor told me at first if I am over the limit then I am in violation. Then I asked him what the limit was and he told me to wait outside for 30 mins while he looked it up. He came back told me there is no limit and that I don't really know how to proceed with this one......
