Default Where to buy methanol in the tri-state

I'm having a methanol injection kit installed in my car in the coming weeks. I've shopped around online for methanol but shipping is a real killer everywhere that I've been to so far.

Is there anywhere near NYC where you can purchase methanol in person? Is this a Home Depot / paint supply place type item?

Google wasn't giving me any leads so your help is greatly appreciated.

Unless you have a really good reason to do otherwise (99.99% of people do not) do like all of the rest of us meth users do: Go to Walmart, buy the blue -20F windshield washer fluid (the basic cheap stuff, but has to be -20F).

It's about 25-30% methanol, 75-80% water. For our cars, this works really really well. We get a lot of benefit from water in terms of air charge cooling and cylinder head cooling.

If you want to get to 50-50 meth mix, you can take 1 gallon of said washer fluid, add 2 bottles of HEET (yellow bottle) and you're at 50-50 meth/water.

Also, if you haven't dealt with pure methanol before, it can be pretty nasty stuff. It's also very hydroscopic so you always need to be checking ratios...

Thanks everybody for the responses. I purchased a hydrometer to check the mix and I agree that methanol is pretty nasty. I'll be careful, certainly.

Try contacting VP atlantic, they might be able to point you to a dealer for M1.
Last year I was able to get some at NJMP. I hear Xtreme Race Cars in Patterson has it in stock or has bi-weekly orders
