Default Still getting knock with 10.8 AFR

Guys I posted before and have just added an ebay tmic. I have intake temps in the low 30's C and AFR's in the high 10's and still get know b/w 5500-6500. I've pulled timing from 22 (base map) to 18 and added a bit more fuel to and AFR of 10.5 and still get knock.

I'm out of my mind, spoke to TurboXS and my tech guru and can't seem to get rid of it. The car's making 18.6 PSI and tapers to 17 at redline.

Any ideas?

My mods: SR30 turbo, ebay tmic, pinks & walbro setup, up, down all around catless 3.5" all the way back, APS Pod intake...

Your MAP sensor is prob set to Absolute which means that your running alot of boost. Set it to gauge mode and do a log. I would try to lean it out. you do not need enrichment nearly as much past the trq peak of the motor. That turbo has extremely high Exhaust gas back pressure. 2.5 times boost.. It never was a great turbo. As a result of the EGB there is some reburn going on in the chamber. Running a super rich AFR makes this a volitile mixture and it knocks. Cut the boost back a bit, Lean out up top to 11.5 to 1 Remove timing if need be.

Thanks for the feedback! I am indeed set to Absolute, but thought that was only for log reports. My turbo gauge shows the same boost as the utec logs...

So if I understand you correctly, despite knocking, I should lean it out. What about the timing? Also, what is a good guidling for AFR vs RPM?

Thanks!

Check the install of you tmic. If anthing is loose or rubbing the noise it makes will set off the knock sensor.

I thought of htat but it was doing the same thing before the knock. I got the huge tmic to lower temps in an effort to stop it... Perhaps it is an overly sentitive sensor though. That's what TurboXS suggested...
Thanks.

I would check for something making noise or rubbing in the engine compartment.
If you pulled timing and it's still knocking, it's probably phantom knock.

You said youl pulled timing form 22 to 18. what about the adjacent cells. if you jumping more then 2 degrees between adjacent cells that could cause knock also. (ignore this for low rpm/load)

Ok - I'm not burning any oil that I can measure. No smoke of any kind and the oil level is constant. I am using one step colder copper plugs. I have about a 1 - 1.5 jump between adjoining cells up and down and side to side in teh timimng map. I calibrated the wideband before this last round of tuning. Though I didn't physically remove it from the pipe, I had the car off for 12 Hrs and considered that the free air... I also do the Vishnu battery off trick after each time it knocks...

Hippy - I'll post the maps and log hopefully tonight...
