why are used 06-07s STIs so expensive
Ive seen a number at dealers wanting in the upper 20s and low 30s, are they holding their value because of the new car?

Dealers always try to high ball, so they can trick suckers into thinking they got a deal when they knock $5 K off the price and are still selling the car above book value.
Check KBB, Edmunds, and NADA to see what the cars are worth in your area. Without that knowledge you have no idea if the cars are priced right or not. |

I just got a call from a guy yesterday at Imports of Lancaster PA and he has two used 06 STi's. The one has 10,000 miles on it and it is $26,500 the other has 32,000 miles on it and it is $27,500 (IIRC). Not toooo bad

if the 06-07 has very low miles like 18.000 or under your definitely going to pay top dollar on a 100% unmodified STI easy !!!!!!
The dealer will get what he wants for these cars ! especially in my area . |

the new 08-09-10 doesn't help knock it down that much...
i remember waiting till the new 2008 was revealed so i can go to the dealer and sneak out with a good deal on a brand new 2007 for cheap.... but every socal dealership used the "the new ones don't look as good" argument to their advantage and held the MSRP of the 2007 firm! Renick Subaru even marked up the price of a 2007 WRX TR to $25,500 and a base 2007 WRX to $26,500 and would not go any lower than $26,000 no matter how hard i tried... and it wasn't even $26,000 OTD... it was $26,000 plus everything else ... of course I told them to go F themselves |

It's at Manchester Subaru (NH) who is a NASIOC vendor and.....
sit down.... no, really.....sit down..... They put their pricing for NASIOC members right in our teh nesics. They happen to have a thread for new cars WITH prices (and even tell you the doc fee) and now have one for used cars. The used car thread...... http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1800876 I am extremely impressed. There are dealers who won't even give you the price over the phone. These guys are great. jack |

The funny thing is that 10 months ago you could get a brand new 2008 STI for ~$28,000.

Win-
When I first bought my STI, I had the opportunity to buy one of the first 08's, I looked at it, and went right back to my 07' signed papers and left. I do like the interior more, I just wasn't really a fan of the quad exhaust, and the hatch. I just thought the 07 looked more aggressive, a little more raw, and in the end I bought my 07 and never looked back. I do wish I had dual avcs though, that's the only thing that annoys the hell out of me about the 07's. Last edited by SatinWhitePearl; 09-15-2009 at 10:11 AM. Reason: thoughts |

Ummm because 06-07 STis are the best ever? Lol but yeah speaking of this I saw a 06 STi today on cars.com with 73.5k miles on it and they wanted $20k for it. I couldn't tell if that was a good deal or not but it wasn't modded still seemed kinda out there.
