I think gaining power could only attest to a avcs system not working properly, and being removed.
I'm gonna have to disagree Carmi... AVCS is awesome if tuned correctly and does make a huge difference with spool and torque even with "big" cams.

How are people going about removing AVCS? I've tried just unplugging the avcs and it ran like poop so I switched to wrx cam gears and it feels 10x better. I'm sure adjustable gears would be best.

Ok so I had this big detailed message but my phone decided to restart so for now I will make it nice and simple, I run a s200sx-56 twinscroll, on a jdm 2.0 with avcs and all I can say is I easily in a 4th gear pull pick up 500-600 Rpm spool I have proof I just need my lap top, also I run 9:1 compression, and right now.im running 16.5-21.5 timing and making 450 on virtual dyno 1.0cf and 489hp on dynojet setting so im guess hc has alot to do with rod to stroke ration of an engine. And Thoughts about stuff like this???

If we ever run avcs on mid frame turbos, and big cams, i would be using the stock ecu, but we have encounter the same valve drop issue afterwards (last longer though)

as I re-read what I said, I realize what you are saying and I think I overstated my ideas based on something i've read about the fastest mivec cars; but I was meaning more that it's hard to setup avcs right with a highly modified engine, I feel not many people have it down. I believe that avcs helps, it's effects on your overall powerband? I think that sounds like a test ? Plus I don't think most guys are running dual avcs either on the big cam setups, so the exhaust cam is what I would be more interesetd in seeing, or both obviously.

The video makes the motor sound a lot louder than it really is.

I switched over to e85 the other day. Same timing map as before with another degree of timing from 5500 up. I have the stock MAP sensor installed now to it's only running 23psi. For 23psi it hauls ass. I'll install my old txs 5bar map sensor this weekend and see what's up.

Motor does sound pretty loud. So is your exhaust lol. I remember those days. Then I installed a second full magnaflow exhaust and it sounds like stock now ftw. Lost a bit of spool and power but definitely worth it.

Sounds good.

Should think about running the sp racing cutout between the two mufflers.
I love mine and works well.

I have a Borla Hush on it It sounds pretty normal until the wastegate opens.

I used to have a QTP e-cutout but LC/FFS bent the flap open (twice) so I took it off and put a blockoff plate on it for now.

I have a Borla XR-1 plus one full magnaflow right after the downpipe. My cutout is right before the axleback in the rear so it doesn't get the abuse of a cutout at the downpipe.

I made mine with a hacksaw and cheap parts plus clamps from summit

Ill take a pic of my setup tomorrow. Reid-o, I feel you. I can do a lot but welding is not one of them. I harbor freight flux welded mine and used these clamp couplers to secure it in place. The first time I did it without couplers, the whole thing fell apart on the first pull and I had to pick it up from the side of the road

You should make one. My cutout opens at 7 psi and sounds only as loud as a standard catback when open.
When I take my foot off the throttle it's dead silent.
I have a supertrapp on the ewg and standard 35r. It helps me to avoid the police when I'm driving home from the bar lol

Made a pass at the track this weekend. Had head winds between 30-50mph! It put a car into the wall a few runs after me so I only made one low boost, break-in map pass. Not too shabby.

On the way home,
