Subaru's New FB Turbo Motor (1.6 DIT)
Grimmspeed noticed this in some of the BRZ photos, I completely missed it!
Sadly, thats all I can find right now... Looking for more info and better photos ASAP! Its on display right now at the Tokyo auto show. Update: More photos courtesy Hachiroku on the FT86 forums! Sadly, no information about the model designation or the specs

Edit, NVM. I think I see spark plug coils. Unless those are glow plugs...? |

This correlates with the event last week where there was a slide that said the new WRX was going to get a turbo 2.0 FB engine.

The FB20T could then be sold in all of the other models, similar how the EJ25T is only sold on certain models. |

Now, is it an EJ, FB or FA? Since it says Net-Generation, it should be an FB or FA.

More pics please!
A picture of the front of the engine would be helpful or even the other side. It's hard to see all the plumbing from that side.\ EDIT: Ah crap you do have the other side. I missed that sry. |

What looks like a low mounted filter could also be a turbine outlet.
It looks like there is a curved heatshield on one side of it. What could be a wastegate actuator on the otherside. And I see some bolts on either side that might be "downpipe" bolts. Edit....It also looks like it could be the MAF on the compressor inlet. I think I see a "MAF electrical box" on the side of it. |

It makes me think a FMIC would be a lot easier to pipe with the turbo down there.
I need to google 2010+ LGT FMICs. |

They make heatsinks out of aluminum, copper or even steel for a reason. The thermal conductivity of plastic is way below metal. {silently and quickly goes back to OT} |
