I see a lot of these around Chicago, including a white one at a funeral on Friday. I wanted to ask about it but since it was owned by one of the sons it wasn't really the right time.

I've seen maybe 10 here in Seattle the last couple weeks. God, they're gorgeous. Want.

It really is a good looking car. I see them quite often in the SF Bay Area, and they are instantly recognizable from any angle while still being classically proportioned.
I've read that they are pretty nice to drive as well, which was a surprise. Their marketing annoys me quite a bit, but I guess you have to be aggressive when you are a startup that wants to sell ultra premium products. As long as the car looks that good and also fun to drive, I hope they succeed. |

Geeze.. we need to abolish the franchise laws that are responsible for mandatory dealerships altogether... not just for low volume zero-emissions vehicles.

It's stupid that I can't just buy the cars from the manufacturer direct and have to have middle men in any purchase. We have the internet now... I should be able to circumvent everything in the supply chain I want as long as I'm willing to purchase it online.

Meh, I have to agree with ALL of you guys....no reasons dealers should have to be in the loop. They can just be a service port for your car. As good as some interactive websites are, the salesman just adds to the overhead and offers nothing substancial in return.
Oh when I said I agree with everything you guys know I meant everything but wanting one. Just wanted to clear that up You know in case any of you were confused... Just in case. |

I still think dealerships would have their place. Good dealerships, interested in good customer service, would make a killing and the vast majority of new car buyers would still be happy to buy from a dealership along with all service.

^Nice! Is it as fun as all the reviews make it out to be?
I agree on the dealership thing, there's no reason to make it mandatory. The local government can benefit just as much from the manufacturer run dealers as they would have to pay the same sales tax anyway. As far as the thread topic goes I wonder if Tesla will offer the option to upgrade to this package for owners who already have their car like they did the Roadster. |
