Doesn't get any bolder than Lightning Red.

Oh and Yellow is available in Japan on the Spec-C.

Piss in the shower or something?

In all honesty, I've always wanted a deep metallic purple color, kind of barney purple mixed with 50% black. Think of the WX-01 concept car from way back (what would become the Tribeca eventually) and make it much darker in color.

SOA
Since you said NASIOC is popular in your office for reading up on what enthusiasts like and dislike.

Can you say which ideas (if any) have made it into production vehicles for Subaru from NASIOC in paticular?

When trying to come up with ideas for new models and to improve on an existing ones, is there a team that specifically goes through the threads in NASIOC to get info?

Just curious

PS: Good company - Great cars, keep it up.

Hi there, we don't take particular ideas from forums but we do look to see what our enthusiast buyer's opinion might be on a certain subject. Sorry to be so vague.

SOA Blog,

Can you confirm when the MY2011 STI will stop being produced to allow the MY2012 to start? I think it's usually March.

I ask bc I put in an order for a Limited in Red w/ Navi back in Jan and ive yet to get a VON or VIN. I know that is produced in extremely low quantities so it's possible they wont fill the order if production ends soon.

*Edit* I ordered from a SNE dealer, so I know it's different than SOA.

I got a VON for an STI hatch on Saturday, so they seem to still be taking orders.

SOA Blog, not sure you can answer this one but...

I'm assuming that SOA decides (along with FHI?) which vehicles would be best to deliver to the US market, through various market surveys, etc. But what about SCI (Canada)? Do they decide what comes from overseas or do they have to pick from the vehicles that SOA decides to bring over? Or, does SCI work independently to bring whatever vehicles they want?

(in other words, do we just get the scraps you 'Mericans throw away, or is it worthwhile prodding SCI for vehicle requests that aren't even offered in the US )

You guys get packages and colors that we don't. So I'd assume they are directly ordered from FHI in Japan.

Thanks guys! (I really should have been able to put that together myself now that I think of it - there is no red STI offered in Canada anymore but there is in the US still)

SOA Blog... is the Impreza the only new thing we will see at the NY Autoshow? I don't want details or anything... Everyone already knows the 2012 Impreza is coming to the NY Autoshow, so it's basically an open secret. I am just curious if Subaru had any other surprises for other vehicles... A yes or no would be awesome.. plus the rumor mills will get churning at a rapid pace.

Sometimes Canada gets things the US doesn't, BTW. (Legacy wagon comes to mind.)

Is there going to be a sport mesh grill option for the new front fascia on the 11 WRX/STi? I like that there was some effort to take the chrome out of everything, but the grill being gloss black on the top and flat black on the bottom?

SOA,

Figured I ask here since our local dealer has no idea and and I'm not really sure where to start myself. I myself have now owned 3 subaru's and I'm sure I will continue to own them as in my mind they are the perfect DD for NE weather. That being said I am looking to convert my parents over to the "dark side" They have been a bmw/volvo faimly for 20+ years now. I recently brought home an outback for them to look at as they are looking to replace their current volvo v70. They loved it but but the lack of bar spread from the current roof rack found on the outback is a deal breaker for my father. He needs at least a 30 in spread between the crossbars. Essentially he needs Euro rails. I know hes just one customer in 10's of thousands but your about to lose him to a different manufacturer. I did a little digging and found the UK and Mexico addition of the outback comes with Euro rails. Is there anyway to get them shipped state side and have them installed on his potential new outback even if it means him covering the cost?

I know hes just 1 fish in a very large ocean for you but I would hope there is something you can do?

sincerely,

-Sean

Can you confirm that my spectacular mounting of the turbos under the motor on my H6TT setup influenced the 2010 GT turbo layout.

You can order online, and they offer worldwide shipping (though that may be pretty pricey). Drop them an e-mail if you don't see the part: [email protected]. An independent Subie shop near you would likely install it if your dealer wouldn't (though I bet the dealer'd do it if you pushed for it during the negotiation process).

SOA Blog,

Can you comment on this quote from Ernie Boch Jr., owner of SNE as you know.

Houston we might have a problem...

Ernie Boch Jr owns Subaru of New England (the distributor for fall of new england, it is not an individual dealership).

"Here in New England, one of the most visible immediate impacts could be if you are trying to buy a Japanese-brand car. "Almost every manufacturer -- Toyota, Honda, Mitubishi, Subaru has stopped production because of the quake,'' said Ernie Boch Jr. of Boch Automotive Group. Generally speaking, U.S. consumers get about half their Japanese-branded cars and trucks from Japanese factories, half from plants in the U.S. South and Midwest.

Boch said the impact could be most deeply felt with Subarus, an especially popular Japanese brand in New England. He learned that the tsunami apparently damaged thousands of Subarus at a port facility on the eastern coast of Japan.

"There was damage to cars from Fuji Heavy Industries, which is Subaru, but we don't know if they were for the United States, for China, for Europe -- we don't know,'' Boch said. But he noted that Subaru carries extremely low inventories of cars, essentially selling every vehicle before they are finished on the assembly line. "I think for Subaru, if those cars were slated for the U.S. there'll be a serious shortage of Subarus in the United States ... There are no extra Subarus anywhere.'" [NECN 2011]

Sounds like Ernie being Ernie and trying to drive prices up.

He's a shrewd businessman, this doesn't really surprise me.

SOA Blog,
Is is possible to get production numbers on the 2008 Forester XT Sport broken down by color and transmission?

Thank you,
