Did you make a thread about this build? Remember something of the sort, though it might be another one I saw. One I saw is doing a metal wide body setup.

Hey, it mounted through the bumper beam. I drilled two holes where the license plate mounts and put 2 six inch bolts through. It's really sturdy and works great. I think for the 06 there are holes in the bumper beam on top that go all the way through so it's really easy for you to mount a bar.

This was Johnny's car right? It used to be one of the GC car's then it traded hands. I know Johnny mentioned thinking about selling it awhile ago. Looks like your the new owner!

Yup! Bought it off of him a couple weeks ago. Put in a new battery, changed the oil, and drove it 2,000 miles round trip to Oregon without a hitch.

Doing Ridgecrest as I have exactly 0 experience in the dirt. Couldn't be more eager to learn though!

Looking to keep the suspension fairly stock, Thinking of doubling up on spacers. were your rear wheels centered in the wheel well after the lift? How much are you looking to get for your stuff... Selling your bumper

yes, that one ripped out twice, and the one on the other side ripped out once. i've recently put 1"x1/4" machine screws with 1" washers and wingnuts so they quit ripping out. i also put those washers on the mud flaps and they don't rip anymore. since i was fixing the fender flares once a month from all the places i drive, i decided to drill into the sheetmetal and place a machine screw every 5"

.

my wife's '12 impreza feels like a tiny little clown car in comparison to my outback, but the outback's turning circle is only a foot bigger. perfect family car. i probably should've gotten a 6 cylinder, but 30 mpg is more important to me than slightly better acceleration. its no race car. its amazing how craptastic the interior of the impreza/forester is compared to the legacy/outback. a comfortable street car is nice.

Yeah I love our '12 outback limited. Plush interior and comfy ride. I tried to talk her into stiffening up the suspension a little but she'll have none of that (or the mud). Ha ha..

im really surprised my ultrabitchy wife or stepdaughter haven't complained about the slightly firmer ride with tires that don't have sidewalls made of marshmallows.

16" Steel wheels from a '10 Forester clear 06/07 4-pots, but the crappy tires (Turanza EL42 215/65/16) rub upon hard turning while braking. I'm gonna throw them out pretty soon, but they are a good reference for obtaining the right size tire. I just wanted the steelies. :P
