Roll call for July 14th Solo II at Cal Speedway
Well its time again for the CSCC Solo II at the California Speedway in Fontana (click here for the details) this weekend on the 14th.
I was just gauging the interest and wondering who was planning on going. On a separate note since I live in the SF Valley (and I still haven't got my car into the body shop), who was interested in caravaning from a start point like the LA Zoo?

My friend wants me to join'm to this thing. Not sure if I can make it yet. For me it's pretty pricey still, considering I'm not a CSCC member yet. Might go watch though and cheer for the Subiez.

lil'redwagon I noticed that too. That's the first time I have seen that. I guess now the playing field against z3coupe is going to be even (assuming he gets there in time to walk the track ).
Does anyone have any input on a good club to join for a points card? I know z3coupe is with no bucks, and I have seen team blew which is predominately Suby's, but it looks like blew is not in that good of standing with the CSCC. Any comments or suggestions? |

I'll be there Sunday. I'm part of team blew and we are in fine standing with the CSCC. In fact the double practice that is coming up is being hosted by us (and a couple other clubs).
We are a new team though, this is the first year we've been up, but there are no membership dues and you get a points card. Saves you some money on races. Anyways, if anyone else would like info, PM me and I'll be happy to help out any way I can. Josh |

Subayai WRX - I'll be there
I'll be there. My goal is to try and get near your times! After that great time you got in El Toro...
Are you still running in SK2 or have you done any upgrading? After the El Toro event, I rotated my tires (bad feathering on the right front) and went and got an alignment done. I'm at -1.1 camber in front now. I'm really curious to see what a difference this makes. I'll have my easy-up again. Try to save me a spot if you can! I'll be there around 10:00. I've got the long drive this time instead of you. I can't remember what your easy-up looks like. Let me know and I'll look for it. Mark |

can somebody please help me out? my computer keeps crashing when it tries to load Acrobat Reader, so i can't find out when the classes are running/working. could someone please find out this info and post it here? you can get to it by going to www.solo2.com; then clicking 'events' from the menu on the left side; then clicking on 'July 14th Championship Cal Sppeedway'. you could probably just copy and paste it onto a reply here. i'm specifically interested in finding out when STX runs/works, but others would probably be interested in the other classes.
thanks a lot! -james |

My fiance and I will be running in STX.
This is the first time we're gonna use the same car..I am assuming they will have something to accomodate 2 drivers using the same car in the same class (like they do in San Diego)??? Otherwise she'll bring her stock wagon and run in STX. |

My eventual plan is to try and compete in DS for until I can afford the brake/wheels/rims upgrade all at once. So the only mod in my future (and that may be soon if the tire wear keeps up on the RE92's) are to switch to Falken Azenis in stock size (205/55R16). That should put me smack into the top 3 in DS with any luck. See ya there, and we'll see if I can convince the wife to show up, let alone drive. |

Erhhh? still on my stockers, which I got from Big Valley (Van Nuys). Perhaps someone else who is subayai (fast, quick and agile).
I have heard mixed results on whether or not people are getting there stock rims when upgrading at the dealers. There is no law since, since they will either discount the new setup minus the stock, or they just charge the dealer markup (which is usually the case) and don't credit you for the original wheels. I know that Ryan down at Irvine said that if the customer wants they give them the stock setup at no charge if they upgrade. Just to add fuel to the fire on this one. I know that when we got my wife's New Beetle that they only put the steel wheels on at the factory in Mexico. The alloys are then put on at the "port" in San Diego. The steelies are then sent back to the plant. So as far as a credit for better alloy's at VW, forgot it. With that said I am not sure if Subaru does the same thing with the Impreza (alloy's mounted in the states). |

I'm going to try and make it as a late comer. I'm prolly going to run in the SK2 (doesn't matter too much to me, yet) group again. Last time that was the group they through me in...
Anyhow hopefully things will fall into place and I will be able to make it. |
