Compressor: Personal choice really. I always break it down simply: the 400C is smaller, louder and faster from 110-150psi (standard operating pressure) than the 444C. If you plan on raising your tank pressure above 150psi (which can be done via the controller with our SwitchSpeed, AutoPilot V2 and e-Level kits) then the 444C becomes the better choice as it will fill above 150psi. The difference in noise output is extremely marginal, either the Air Lift Silencers or AccuAir EXO system will be the difference maker for that.

Power Kit: The power kit built into the V2 wiring harness is sufficient for powering a single pump (it's a 10awg wire). If you go dual pumps, we strongly recommend running a thicker power wire, which is why we offer our 4awg power kit. Our power kits include two different colored wires for power and ground (20ft total), a wire distribution block to keep your wiring neat and tidy, 100a fuse + fuse holder, and all the terminals you need! All packaged nicely in a branded and sealed container

Air Line Size: Another personal preference. I personally like 1/4" air line because I feel that is smoother to lift/dump than 3/8" and I can more easily make precise adjustments to the pressure in each air spring. Not to mention, when doing the installation, 1/4" air line is easier to route than 3/8" due to its smaller diameter and greater malleability.
Just a few things I'd like to add in here

The difference in the two compressors is more than just the operating pressure, it's also duty cycle and size. The 444c is a 100% (@ 100psi) and the 400c is a 33% duty cycle compressor (@ 100psi). Simply put, the 444c compressor will be able to run longer periods of time without needing to cool off. The other major difference is the size of the compressors. The 444c is a bit larger in size, but not so much that it greatly effects trunk space. Oh, and, the other major difference is the power draw. With the 400c you're talking 51 +/- amps and with the 444c you're talking 38 +/- amps.

While I agree with the use of a power kit, it's important to note that those using the V2 shouldn't be using an external power kit as it will actually void your warranty through AirLift. AirLift has made it clear on more than one occasion that they recommend using additional 10awg wiring and a relay for a second compressor or their second compressor wiring harness which looks like this:

is the best way to retain your warranty and not cause any future issues with the V2 management system.

While air line size is definitely personal preference, it's important to point out that 3/8" air line can always be slowed down with the use of mufflers, flow controls, etc. Whilst 1/4" air line can never be sped up. While 3/8" is typically more expensive and poses an additional up front cost, the pay off is that you can always slow it down. With 1/4" you would have to re-run all the air line in your car and change your manifold output size (V2) or add reducers (SwitchSpeed / e-level)

Here is a silly question. Does any one here run air and have mud flaps?

Not a big fan of cars like this, especially in my area where all civics are like that. But some subbies do look pretty cool

Just got my package from Bag Riders / Air Lift. Sucks that I have to wait until Spring time for install, but oh well. It's gonna be well worth the wait.

why is the cold stopping you from driving? is it just due to trying to get the suspension installed or is the cold really preventing you from driving for some other reason?

its about 10* here lately and its just making everything so cold that it won't kick my compressor on.. well i found out today i have a leak on a park and it may be the reason.

Took a bud for some ripping the other day and he was astonished at how well the car rode on air ride. He said he felt like it was riding on lowering springs. I love it.

I think I need a new check valve and another water trap.

How much air brake antifreeze do you guys use in the winter?

Mines stored in the garage so I couldn't help you with that.

Why do you think you need a new check valve and water trap though?

Apparently the 444c check valve is not the greatest, just want the cheap insurance of the SMC one. I have one water trap between the compressor and tank, but not between the tank and manifold. Again, just cheap insurance for me.

My car is sitting outside in 18* weather right now all day while I'm at work.

@Silver Sedan - thanks, thats what I thought. Your car looks damn good!

@Aaron - such a beautiful car. Love it man!

Get the SMC check valve. Ever since I made the switch it I've not had any issues with a frozen check valve. I also use 2 cap fulls of air brake anti freeze in my tank. I make sure to drain it once a month in the winter as well. This will keep you good to go. You shouldn't need another water trap unless you have a leaky one.

I see now that you made it to the SMC check valve. To be honest, I'd just move the water trap you currently have to between the tank and manifold. The air coming from the compressor into the tank is still too hot to make a huge difference. Moisture accumulates in the tank more once the air cools down. I'm not saying that 2 water traps doesn't add more protection against moisture, but I run a single between the tank and manifold and have had zero issues here in the northern part of Indiana. I drive all year round and put a great deal of miles on the car per week.

Should also add that I air up and down a good amount every day too. So, my compressor (444c) works a good amount daily.
