Yea, I mean you're talking another $30 for the water trap.
Also when I drain the current one in it's position it always has stuff in it. I live in a really humid area, during the summer. May or may not have an effect. My 444c gets decent work, it's a great compressor and I'm glad I did the upgrade. Part of me wants to get another.

Yea, for sure. I agree.
Do you have any pics of your check valve installed? Can you snap one with your cell phone really fast for me? |

I'm running the SMC check valve along with water trap. Basically, I'm dual purposing one port in my setup with a t fitting.
What I see when the trunk first opens. |

I love the wood flooring, looks great. Did you have to run a platform/base or anything under it to put the flooring on? Did you just use plywood or MDF or something?
Thanks for the pics man! I want to take pics of my car, but it's so damn cold here and stuff. Plus the car is so dirty. |

The way that Corey (ocdpvw) ran his check valve is one of several ways to run the check valve. The beauty of the way Corey did it, makes it such that you only need one hex nipple. Simply remove the stock viair check valve and screw the SMC unit onto the end of the leader line.

Thanks! Right now I have some ply wood as my base. It was enough to build up the floor for clearance, but I'll be redoing it this spring with some darker wood and a more sound structure. It's always a fun small project and I've redone the trunk of the car a few time now. Why not do it again I'm thinking of going out for some photos... I did wash he car yesterday. I'm not sure what is worse. White cars with the dirty snow or black cars which show all of the salt? |

I think next year you should try to redo it once a season

This is how it is with the mat in
this is under the mat I want to make a fiberglass enclosure for the sub lower in the spare tire well, there's a lot of un-used space. Then to a wood floor and powdercoat the tank. |

I have about 1/2 the trunk sound deadened. I will eventually get around to doing the rest. It's a crap load quieter back there now.

I'm sure the EXO mount helps out quite a bit.
Do you have a drain on your tank? |

i LOVE the exo mount, it's incredible.
I have the inflation valve on the bottom, I will usually drain the air that way. Then take the bottom right fitting off and drain the rest and leave it for a while to air out. |

That's looking great so far! That is one reason I wish I had a sedan. I'd totally suspend the tank and leave for more room in the spare wheel well. At the end of the day I still love the hatch. I still feel like there is more options with a trunk of the sedan for an air setup. Hardwood will look killer. How about hardlines? Not sure if that would be doable with a suspended tank and any vibration, but I know they are popular in the many other air forums I look at.

I like the idea of hardlines...but NVH is a concern, especially because I have solid cusco motor mounts. So I just don't wanna risk it. Maybe I'll run a SS line to the manifold...if that's possible, do SS flex lines visible.
The suspended tank is cool. As soon as I fiberglass a sub enclosure it'll open up a lot of room and look a ton better, that box is just too damn big, it's an odd size. But it was free. |

It's nice to hear you're satisfied with the EXO mount. I had one on my last setup and love it very much. It's a shame you don't see more people using them as it's a great add-on and really cuts down on the compressor noise.
Noticed your inflation valve. The port to the right of your inflation valve is 1/4" and you could easily throw a drain in there for convenience. The inflation valve won't allow you to get as much out of the tank as the drain will, not to mention it's a pain to remove that fitting every time you want to drain the tank! |

Yea, it does, it's really not loud at all. The exo mounts are great.
yea, that's another thing I need to do is a proper drain, but I'm about to change tanks... have you seen the specialty suspensions seamless air tanks? i want one of those sooo bad. |

They're definitely a game changer for this industry. For the past few years, the rage has been extruded aluminum tanks with no bottom weld. This tank takes things to a new level of rad. The overall look is incredible and if you follow dorbritz designs, he's been hydro dipping the tanks as the pattern lays damn near perfect with no welds on the tank!
