Post Thule rack footers

So my little brother heads back to VT Tech in a few weekends for college. My mother, like all mothers do is already busy planning in advance how to cram all his crap into as few cars as possible. We need to get his Gary Fischer up there... so... I have a Thule rack that I used to mount on my Accord... however I don't think the footers are the same. What are you guys using for footers? Any other irregularities that I need to know about??

Thanks,
Fitz

Fitz,

First off, what car is the rack going on? Is it going to be your Subie? If it is, you should ask Nate, because he has a Thule rack. and could probably tell you the exact pieces you need. You have the 2 door, correct? You may also need the short roof adapter. I have that from my old celica if you need it.

The most popular foot kit is the 400. It is almost interchangeable with most cars without gutters. The only thing you would need to get is the fit kit for that particular car, which goes for under $40.

I also have a rear trunk mount carrier if you want to borrow or even buy, it will not fit on the subie, because of the rear wing.

If you do need any parts, let me know, I can get it at a little above cost. That is if he is leaving after the next meet(20th. I could get it for you by then.

Let me know if you have any questions, I used to install these all the time.

If you are just carrying a bike, you won't need the short roof adapter as long as you're using the full tray type bike bit. If the guy tries to push it on you... "Just Say No." You only rally need it if you're using one of those roof top box things or skis/snowboards. They need the space between the rails for the bindings.

You're right, Chuck. You can get away without using the Short Roof Adapter, but I already have it and Fitz can borrow it for free.

Sh-weet...thanks for the tip...and i have two of the full length bike adapters...so I think that'll provide enough rigidity ....

Thanks,
