Default guess what I test drove today?

Okay, I'll tell you - a 2003 "French's mustard yellow" WRX wagon. I liked it a LOT. The sales guy was talking about how the manual transmission has to "learn your driving habits" because I shifted too slow from 1-2 and got off boost - which was pretty ugly when I hit 2nd. Idiot. But I did execute a perfect 3-2 downshift on a 90° left. Shifter feels really good. Didn't get on it too hard, though. Rolls a LOT more than my RS, since it doesn't have the swaybar & endlink upgrade. I really liked the exhaust sound - it was a quieter, more subdued version of Tom Hoppe's rally exhaust; didn't know it would sound like that. Felt like there was more low-end than when I drove Tom's car in a fun run at Rocky Mt. Was really smooth. I gotta get me one of these some day...

What all did they change on the new model??

I saw a purty yellow wagon yesterday @ a dealership.

Are they going to make that color in sedans??

Sounds like fun man! You thinking of trading the RS soon now? Or just testing it out?

I always drive anything I can get behind the wheel of. The more experience the better.

Just checking it out. Making plans for the far off future, to replace a Honda Civic. I've never owned a turbo before, and didn't know how bad turbo lag felt - found out it's not that bad in general "driving around."

I asked the salesguy what changes they'd made, and he said he wasn't sure, but he thought the grill might be different. I couldn't tell.

The yellow is actually not that bad, either; I think I could get used to it. It would make me a lot more visible, which would be good considering I almost got run off the road or rear-ended about 10 times yesterday! I don't go into the big city of Raleigh much, so I'm not used to this like my wife is... no wonder she's so stressed out all the time!
