Finally starting to look at engine parts
ok well i am finally starting to collect stuff for my v8 207 motor, now first this is going to be piston, thinking about 4032 because im not going to alot of power, maybe 400, but it will be higher boost because i will be running e85 most the time, but also 93 just depends where i am at. now i want to run around 9:1-9.3:1 yes i understand at these CR's i wont be able to run as much timing, i tune my own car so im not so worried. so my question is where can i get pistons with this CR??? will they have to be custom??? i think they will just be drop in, i will be getting the block checked soon, but walls look good just need to make sure its not ovaled.

I think cp has ots pistons that are 9.0 to 1 for the 207.

started looking, and i only see 9:1 for 2.5 this is a jdm 2.0 liter, anyone else know of anywhere??? also since i will basically be building this for DD would it hurt drivability if i go with +1mm exhaust valves??? the heads have already been cleaned up a little over the big port they already are.

You might as well just stick with rebuilding the block. Your heads are prob not a restriction if your still using the VF37. Just put some std comp 2.0 cp pistons in and you should be good to go. You could run the 9:1 but you might get some det on the high end of the RPM with 93 but e85 should be good...
Im not an engine builder but thats what I would recommend. |

well i dont race much, and will be changing out the turbo prob to a borg s200sx which is twinscroll, but i really do alot of driving in the city and its stop and go so i want the better out of boost power, i have been looking and the offer OTS for sti with 9:1 and every evo is 9:1 and i know with the avcs, and the ported ver8 heads and bigger valves i should have a better ve to keep knock away, but i just cant find alot of info on it. i am gong to atleast keep stock compression which is 8.4:1 but would really like more city driving power and when i run 93 the power and boost would be turned down so as to keep det down

Depends on how far you want to take it. JE has the billet pistons, the fsr's, if you want to take it that far. CP will make you a custom piston too. Expect a 2-4 week lead time when ordering them, though!

not really worried about time, i have had this engine sitting bagged up dissembled for 2 years now was reading about the billets and fsr's and herd the fsr were cracking but not untill around 600 and im only shooting for ~400 max. may just go through 3MI on a set that way i can get them custom and hopefully it will help with the swirl and burn especially with the higher CR i see others with higher CR just dont know where they are getting them

I'd say cp, their customer service and tech help is awesome. I got to talk to the designer for the ej257 pistons and he was great help

I just picked up a full set of +1mm ferrera valves so that will be another thing, making sure with avcs I wont hit the piston
