As someone who likes to pay as little extra as possible to cover warranty claims, I condone it too.

This usually has to do with the dealer not SOA, my stepfather works for a car dealership as a Customer Service Manager and the dealership makes most of it's money off the upgrades that they can do and services on the cars. Just post the name of that dealership and tell everyone to not go there, it will hurt them more than anything.

Cobb Tuning has a letter from an SOA Vice President in there showroom that states they are happy that companies like Cobb are selling good quality Subaru products and supporting the brand, so I doubt it's SOA.

Sounds like you are upset they figured out you were trying to pull a fast one?

funny how people get all upset thinking a great injustice has been done against them by the very company they tried to defraud in the first place.

I have personally used posts made by someone on a forum to deny warranty when they brought their car in all damaged from their actions.

You guys from SOA seem like your really out to keep your customers. I mean I can understand about dropping the clutch 50 times or drag racing but your advertising a "fast car" 0-60 3.6 seconds!! What do you expect people to do when they buy a wrx or sti when they go fast and then SOA calls it abuse because of weak trannys and such.

Subaru is very aware of what their cars can do and what causes them to break. abuse and defects are very different from eachother.

I deal with this on a daily basis....defects are repaired without question, abuse is not. It's a very clear line.

...and P.S. Subaru not only monitors this site...but most of the other Subaru forums as well, and has been doing it for years...

I keep hearing that, but despite my mentioning several times that I know how to save Subaru a ton on money on some part reuse and all it will cost them is a couple of Spec B's I still haven't gotten a phone call.

thats a dissapointment then , because they see how weak the transmissions are on the forums yet they do nothing to make them stronger for our benifit . Do any of the forums they watch do Engineer chat sessions ? where you can ask them about there cars ?

You can buy a stronger transmission, either separately or in a car (ie STI). I don't see you clamoring for higher WRX prices...

PS - If you use Firefox as your browser, it has built-in spell-checking for everything you type, including thread posts.

i use firefox but never seen that feature , i like pissing ppl off with bad typing and spelling .

how much of a price jump are we talking about ? the wrx TR is about 25k roughly , how much would SOA charge for a beefed up trans. Subaru should charge more for a TR than a regular WRx , since the TR is supposed to mean Tuner-ready .

For FF V2, go to Tools/Options/Advanced/General/"Check my spelling as I type"
