Finished up the cleaning process and put the seats back in. Ahhh finally a super clean interior. Now to tackle the exterior. |

Tightened down my lateral link bolt, yea the 10 inch long one. That damn bolt is so hard to move, but it was loose for whatever reason.
This is how I did it lol. Floor jack holding the wrench on the 'nut side' so it doesn't move, and a steel pipe on the ratchet for the bolt side. I also got my estimate for the deer damages. $2800 to repair the front fender, drivers side door, and rear quarter panel. My car's value isn't much over $4000, if that, so it COULD get totaled out! 75% of the value right? Gonna be close! Last edited by ManualOverAuto; 01-05-2013 at 03:18 PM. |

Had the first break in oil change done in the WRX. Gotta go put some more miles on it for the next one and the retune for next week!
Did a brake job on the black Camaro. Discovered that the inner pads on the front were separating from the backing plate. On the passenger side, it was bent and completed separated on one side. I guess that explains the weird vibration under braking. The new Hawks (HP+ up front, HPS in the rear -- keeps the axle hop that a Z28 is prone to doing minimal) are great so far. |

They actually have plenty of backing material, it's just not all firmly attached to the backing plate.
The vibration started recently, and with the suspension work I'd been doing piece meal (the control arm bushings, then the shocks/springs), I wasn't sure what the cause was initially. |

Put on the HKS flat flange downpipe. Going from a 5 inch divorced wastegate to this makes a world of difference. Getting the old one off was a pita because the bottom nuts are obstructed by the EWG. Install was a snap.. but I should have put an extra gasket on the DP-> Catback flange. Will have to fix that in the AM. Definitely heard an exhaust leak coming from there.
Also have an AOS to install tomorrow. |

Jim (the undisputed subaru whisperer) helped me install my new grimmspeed thermostat, drilled and slotted rotors, and cabin filter. i am eternally grateful for your expertise in subarus.
one of the bolts in the rear caliper seized and broke, so jim and i got to experience the least entertaining task of drilling, torching, threading, etc... also this weird phenomenon: |
