Any of you guys tried using a used laundry sheet? The ones that go in the dryer, one of my friends told me about it and he said it takes the bugs of really good.
Just a suggestion.
Still have to try it for my self.

There are alot of things that are really good at taking bugs off your paint, such as a brillo pad...doesn't mean its a good idea to use it.

Subaru paint is rather soft and that dryer sheet will Mar the hell out of it; because lets face it, people rub the hell out of bugs to get them off. With that being said most people don't care about marring, swirls, or etching they just want shiny.

Moral of the story is, do what you want its your paint. However, the easiest way to get something off is not always the best and or safest.

What I do for baked on/a-hole bugs:

Wash the surface with mitt/sponge
Without rinsing spray 10:1 apc on surface (10 parts h2o 1 part apc)
Let dwell for 30-40 seconds and scrub lightly with "safe scrub" sponge. (autogeek sell em)
The apc mixed with soap makes the surface EXTREMELY slick (lessens chance to marr) and the bugs come right off with little agitation.
Of course apc removes LSP so reapplication is necessary.

Yes, those. Anyone that hasn't gone through a lovebug season just won't understand. They completely infest the state of FL twice a year. A 5 minute trip up the road for a soda can literally destroy your front end if you don't thoroughly remove the 20-50 splattered bugs when you get home. The guts in these bugs are especially acidic, which when combined with the heat bakes them onto your paint so they are dry and hard by the time you get home. After two days, they've permanently marred your paint.

went on a 4000 mile road trip and didn't wash the car until I got back (2 weeks of driving). most of it came off with the power sprayer at a quarter fed place. I'd say around a dozen splatters were baked on really good.

I sprayed some turtle wax bug and tar remover and let it soak for a minute and gently scrubbed with a sponge that has the mesh ribbing designed for bug removal. worked great. I think the bug and tar remover was 4$ and the sponge was 3$.
