Issue Pumping Gas on My 05 STI
Hello there guys, so like the title says I'm having a weird issue with my car when ever i go to pump gas in it. OK so I'm low on fuel and i go to the gas station, i start pumping the gas and it nozzle stops pumping not even 2 seconds after i begin pumping, it does it every time religiously. I have tried going to many different gas stations and its always the same issue. sometimes i get it on a sweet spot and it wont cut off at all and sometimes spills over. I literally stand there usually about 10 minutes trying to pump gas.
What can this be ? My car is an 05 STI with 59K on the odometer, vehicle is bone stock. please help. Thank you all in advance.

I've seen this on an old 2000 silverado I have as work truck. Was told it was the vent tube from the tank that was plugged. We blew air into it and didn't help, but when we changed fuel pump and pressure regulator on it, it solved the issue. I still think maybe the vent tube was the issue, just didn't fully open till we pulled bed off to remove fuel pump. But guess it could be a pressure regulator issue as well, tho I think if that's the case it'll be more about the return fuel line from the fuel log where regulator is than just a pump or regulator. I'm sure this is a totally different animal, just thought maybe you can take something from that and it might help you find a place to start.

I'm not sure that's your problem, but he said it probably is. This might not be the right part for your car specifically, so if your buying one make sure you look it up first. Good luck!
Write up I found about it also- http://cars.natemichals.com/wrx-vapo...ment-write-up/ |
