I have 450 miles on the odometer I'm getting between 21-22mpg .
Guys what is your RPM @ 55 MPH ? My Subie has ~2300 RPM at 55 MPH I think it`s little to high - wonder if my overdrive is working right.

Why bother running on premium gas? I use regular and I get easily average 29.1 MPG on combined trips. On occasions when I play the "Lets see how high I can get my MPG after refuel" game I can get 33MPG on the clock. I just think it's useless to put premium gas when a 2.5i car. It's not like we're driving BMW's or anything.

Sounds about right, I notice when I hit 80mph it's just above 3,000rpm's.

27-30 city, shifting @ 2krpm or less, light throttle;

With lead-footed Fiance driving, A/C on:
23-25 city;

08 4-door 2.5i manual with 19,500 miles getting 28+ mpg with 50% city, 50% highway driving and the AC on when needed. I usually shift between the 2,000-2,500 rpm range on flat areas and 3,000-3,500 going up steep hills. Even driving hard I've never seen my mileage drop below 27. I don't understand how some people are only getting 22-23 taking it easy, when I can get 34 mpg taking it easy and 27 mpg driving with a heavy foot.

08 wrx 5-door-

ive had my "Trip A" set since i bought my car, about 3500 mi now and im averaging 23.4mpg. My "Trip B" I reset between oil changes and i have 22.8 @ 800 mi. I drive pretty spirited, usually shifting around 3k, sometimes higher. I commute to work via city streets, but i make frequent trips to seattle (about 20-30 min north via the freeway)

minor update/additional info:
overall average is up to 28.8, with a couple 29.1 spikes.
use cruise control almost 60% on the highway.
used trip B to get a ramp-to-ramp highway calculation, and it was 33.5mpg and rising over about 30 miles.

I get 30-32 MPG with my 93 Impreza wagon..Unfortunately for mileage sake they no longer make a FWD or the 1.8 liter motor..

2005 2.5i manual with 30K miles. I got 34.2 MPG on my last tank of gas. I ran 85 Octane with 2.5 oz. of Acetone. I've ran acetone in my fuel for the last 5 tanks and have gotten pretty good milage.
