Default 413 wheel HP - 381 ft lbs - 2.0 dyno record with new FP turbo

Special thanks to Robert at Forced Performance for helping me with an amazing new turbo which matched my car 100% -- It spools up just as qucik as a vf series but it hits so much harder!!!

I can honestly say that Forced Performance has it all together - very professional - prompt and the results speak for themselves

This new turbo is some prototype they whipped together in a few days - - soon we will be trying some other things - like a ball bearing center - -- I can't imagine how sick it would be with another 20 - 30 hp - I'll keep you all posted

BTW - its also a Garret t3/t4 - Forced Performance trim

Also thanks to Pruven Performance for the expert tune !

413.3 hp at 6400 rpm

381.7 ft lbs at 4800

Lets see who can top that with 2.0 L!!

I will be posting this dyno sheet later tonight - I'm going to Kinkos later

damn. congrats. thats cool that you put some much power to the wheels. it just sucks that all of us with the us ej20 motors cannot do the same mods and get the same results. your motor is stronger and made to rev higher. oh well. good work

Actually - we purposely shut it down at 6500 b/c I was so scared - its a real loud sound at that hp level !!!- I wonder if it would have pulled to 8,000?>

Nice numbers and at a low RPM. Sounds like that turbo has some more in it. To think.. Stock ECU and an AFC!

Sure - - I'll go if the weather is nice - I may be headed to e'town also on Wed - I know the record is mine now IF I can just get it down the track without the intercooler hoses popping off OR - the new calamity - the dreaded MAF meter overload fuel cut !! It seems there IS a limit to just how much power you can make on the stock ecu - after a certain point it starts triggering these MAF voltage overload codes

Al, are you running the stock ecu from the us spec (if it will even work) or the stock from the sti? Just wondering.

I have the jdm sti ecu "v8" - - but it uses the same MAF sensor and wiring for that as the stock ecu - I think there is some point at which you reach the limits of the stock MAF sensor and I think I just found it

When I try and go over 24 psi the car cuts off in mid pull like a boost cut and then I see a code in the trouble codes about "MAF sensor overvoltage" when i lower the boost - no problems

Al - I can hardly believe those numbers....I know you've got the STi engine but 413 WHP and no NOS on a 2 liter engine? That is almost unbelieveable....GREAT JOB!

BTW - is that the DOHC STi or the SOHC STi?

Al, you need to post in advanced when you'll be at Etown. It definitely looks like the car may only have 1 run in it, before you'll have to move on to a different track.

Thanks man - I will check that out pronto !

I sent a email to Forced Performance also to see how much boost they recommend - if I can work around the fuel cut problems then it looked like the turbo could have presssed up and over 25 psi with ease

BTW - best part about these garret turbos is that they are CHEAP - they are subataintially less than any vf IHI series - - and there are almost limitless variations on size available to suit your tatste and driving needs

With the V-clamp downpipe attachment that they put on the downpipe for me and the overall much more practical lay out of the trubo set up - (compared to stock) - I can swap the entire turbo out in about 30 minutes -- - therefore I am thinking it would be nice to also have a small pea shooter garret qucik spooling unit for auto cross use

First off, nice numbers Al.

Also I want to say that I appreciate you being the guinea pig on these turbo's and giving us some idea of their potential.

But on a personal note I think you are crazy to spend this much money. Have you kept track of the stuff you have bought? 4-5 turbo's, ~4 engine management systems, 2-3 exhaust systems.
etc. I guess if you've got it might as well spend it.

ok, now out with the details on this turbo, comp wheel? comp housing? turbine wheel? turbine housing? trims?
