Default 1.8 ECU w/ 2.5 SOHC Question

Has anyone done a 2.5 SOHC swap with the 1.8 ECU and used the Greddy E Manage or the APEX SAFC 1 or 2 to tune the car?

I want to know if this works and if it runs well. I've heard of people just running the 1.8 ECU with no piggy back, but that it runs rich, etc.

Thanks.

I wish mine ran rich. I've got the 99 SOHC 2.5 with the 1.8 ECU running it without piggyback. No rich issues. I don't know who started that runor, but it simply isn't true. I spent some time at a shop that's done a few of the same conversions, and dynoed them. Dyno numbers confirm it's not an issue.

As well, I had Delta dash hooked up to mine, and the ECU showed no correction in fuel.

Yeah,
I don't know who said they run rich. The 2.5RS's run rich with a bunch of mods on the 2.5ECU. But the 1.8ECU advances the timing up top more and actually takes advantage of the potential power of the motor.

On Diz's car we added a Torque Chip to get more power in 1st, but have also run it on the stock ECU. Xephyr is currently playing with an AFC on his, but I don't know what he found yet...
