Default Anyone into RC cars?

I used to be a sponsored driver way back when, even before Losi had their own car.

I used to race in Huntington Beach at a track called Hot Trax. All the pro drivers used to run there and it was a sad day when the track closed down.

A new track just opened, and to my amazement it is in virtually the same old location, and same layout even... indoor dirt offroad and carpet onroad.

I'd like to get back into racing again, so if anyone want to start racing, or even just open practice, let me know.

Oh what? Fellow RC peoples. I've been on a Hiatus especially since socal raceway closed down in fountain valley.

Last time I was really into RC's was during the uprising of RC Drifting; it was definitely fun being part of that "movement" as well as helping organizing awesome events and so forth. Might of heard of us- "www.groovydrift.com".

Bah! I still have all my 10th scale electric rc's somewhere..just gotta dust them off and get some drivetrain parts replaced.

On another note, some buddies of mine have been organizing 10th scale rally meets lately and trying to draw more interest.

Here's an old ass pic of me in rc driver for the first rc drift event back in 04. I'm the turtle looking dude with the black shirt and the beanie. Buaha

I wish we had a track out my way. I have a 1/8th Hellfire that I have just been tooling around with at local schools. Pretty boring. I have a butt load of spares and want to race it. Do any of you guys know of a 1/8th scale off road track?
Peace out,

they do, but it is a totally different scene there. You must have a membership in order to run there.

8th scale on road only now, the closed the off road track because they said off road people are tools.

I wonder how my Tamiya Frog circa 1988 will do out there?

Does anyone remember One Stop Hobbies in Los Alamitos? I used to race my RC-10 when I was in 8th grade out there.

haha yeah, people used to run those HUGE wings in the back, and they had two structural poles right inside the track.

i used to race the dirt tracks back in the days... MNM Hobbies??? i cant remember the place. But i used to race the buggies and trucks on the offroad tracks with jumps are everything. My dad was sponsored by a few companies.

Then later I switched to the street tracks with the same rc cars. During that time, there was no such thing a child racing RC cars that was actually competitive and good at that. Because of that, and i guess since i was good, I was in a RC magazines and stuff.

damn its been sucha long time since i raced rc cars
