Question K & N Filter Install

I just installed the K & N drop in filter on my '00 RS. I didn't feel like resetting the ECU, too cold, even in LA. This morning the car didn't feel any different. About 3 weeks ago, I did the same thing with my wife's '96 Outback and the difference was immediate (without ECU reset). The pick-up was much smoother and it seemed to rev freeer (SP?). It is an automatic with 59K miles. We also got 3-4 better mpg since then. Should I really take the time to reset the ECU? I didn't reset my 90'Talon when I did the K & N and the lowspeed driveability and also revving was much improved immediately. What do you guys think?

Reset the ECU.

Just leave the battery disconnected while you sleep tonight, then in the morning connect it and warm it up while you have your coffee.
