Thumbs up A few Summit Point videos are up

I did some video capturing last night and uploaded 5 videos to my primitive website last night. These videos are all shot from my car - in the next few days I'll try to get some of the videos I took of the other guys running down the main straight.

Anyway, the videos are here: http://www.submariner.org/thepno95/V...%20Oct%202001/ .

"1+ laps with an M3" is exactly as it sounds - a bumper cam shot of me following a white 1st generation M3 for just over a lap. That was my fastest lap (as far as I know), around a 1:37 flat.

"Fun with Audis" is just me harassing a couple Audis through the tight section of the track, and then passing one on the main straight.

"Dogging a Z28" is me hanging with a Z28 (driving a very strange line) through the same tight section of the course. They started to pull away on the short straight after turn 9, then slowed and gave me the pass, prompting some cursing from me since I was already at WOT and well behind them.

"Groundhog avoidance" is the bumper cam shot of me zipping by a groundhog at 100mph or so on the main straight. He comes onto the track from the right side, stops in the middle, and then continues off the left edge of the track as I swung right around him. Pretty funny.

"Olsen the psycho" is me having a one person conversation about the cars in front of me as we head out for the third session on day one. I'm not schizophrenic, and neither am I.

Enjoy the first round of videos, and like I said I'll try to get some more up this week. Don't hold your breath, though, as I have soccer games the first 4 nights this week, and possibly on Friday too.

Pat,

Great videos! I really wish I hadn't forgotten my Conecam, but that will give me something different for next season I guess.

I'll jump on your thread here, too. I've got some videos from this event posted at http://www.forcefed4.com/movies/pcrqcusa_summit2001 .

You think your a psycho? I want to hear the in car audio of that M3 you were following.

"Is that damn Subaru still back there... I'l get him on this corner... what is that a Legacy or something... he better not have his kids still in it... Jesus doesn't this guy ever go away..."

LOL! They were no doubt wondering about the Legacy.

I was staged in the pits waiting to go out for the last session. I was second in line behind a black A6. I get out of the car to wait the few minutes. Immediately the guy in the A6 comes back and says, "I'll let you go around me." I'm not sure what he's talking about. "I'll pull up a little and you can go around me out onto the track."

I say , "Don't worry about it. Just go out and do your thing. If I come up on you, just let me by."

"Oh you'll pass me. You've done it every session. I just don't want to hold you up."

I didn't pull around him...

whoah, great vids!

Hey Pat, that track reminds me a LOT
of Summit Point, where I took my '97
GT last year.
