Bump!

For the interested, the EJ257 longblock has a spun rod bearing on #3. A friend had asked me to rebuild it, but chose other options when I disassembled it. I ended up with the engine for my labor. I wouldn't have it taking up space in my garage if it was junk

youll be rebuilding this unless that prices comes down. NOTHING significant comes with this car making it that price...maybe if you left the turbokit or the fmic..but the buyer will have to get that aswell.

And yes I did consider this car. Im looking for a shell mostly one without a motor but with a tranny.

1.rebuild motor
2.buy tranny and diff
3.buy turbo or rotated kit
4.buy ecu

when all that comes into play minds well buy something running dont ya think? pm me if youre willing to talk about the price...

+1, way too expensive for a rolling chassis

Hmm...then maybe I'll keep it, after all. It's too nice a car to give away.

We'll see, huh? Not to many one-owner gems around....mostly junk

Thanks for your opinions, folks.

even for $3k it would be a while before you sell this.... you gotta remember, if someone wants this they will need to do the work them selfs. Paying someone to put it together will cost wayyyyy more than the car will ever be worth. So your talking to a small crowd and with $5k price tag..... your just being foolish.

I guess that's your attempt at being helpful? Constructive criticism?

I assumed that whomever would buy a "de-constructed" car would have the mechanical skills to reassemble it. I'd watch it burn before I gave it away for 3k With a rebuildable EJ257 longblock?

I remember a time when complete EJ257 cylinder heads were bringing 2/3rds of that.

Anyway, I think I mentioned I'll keep it.

Your keeping it because your unreasonable and you have an attachment to the car. Because you have some old memories of parts going for higher prices doesnt mean S**T. Get with the current going rate of parts and cars. Maybe 2 years ago this would have been a reasonable price to ask. If your price was $3k that would give someone room to just take it some place and have it put back together for $2k ish plus minus some parts cost.

Have fun with your useless garage trophie, it hasnt been fixed since 04 and probably wont be fixed until 2024 at this rate.
