The four JDM Forrester 6 Speed Transmissions are as follows:

"C" TY856WL4CC
"D" TY856WL7CC
"E" TY856WL7CC
"F" TY856WL8CD

Unfortunatly the Japanese Subaru Software Catalog doesn't work correctly on all files, and the forrester ones don't work.

I was able to determine that the center diff in all four cases is the 38913AA111/112 ( Viscous 4kg ).

No info yet as to the front or rear diff part #s. The guys from JapanParts might be able to pipe in, as they may have the software working correctly (under Japanese windows, no US windows).

UPDATE: From what I can tell by looking in the parts index, the Forrester STI came with the AA041 Rear Diff (Suretrac), and the AA071 Front Diff (Suretrac).

Jeff

why did they go from a clutch to a torsen rear in 2007? odd change at the time...i would think they would have waited of the the new 2yrs revision to change that up...

Take notice that in Japan, the RA Spec C and the new kick ass RAR stuck with the clutch based unit.

It appears they think the clutch unit is better for the more track oriented cars.

Jeff,
great project! While copyright issues mean we can neither *confirm nor deny* we have the Subaru software onhand; let's just say we have ready access to the Database and will look at expanding what you've done to include Forrester and Legacy parts, maybe back to the GC-8

Don't know what kind of timeframe we're looking at, but later in year when things slow down a little here...

I know there are several online sites that have great listings of the 5-spd drivetrains and actually overlap into the 6-spds some. I'll have to find the link on my home computer. It was right on my ver.3 RA diff and my short geared Ver7 DCCD 6-spd.

This is a nice summary. What would be a great addition would be diff ratios for each variant of the tranny.

And tranny gear ratios as well
