Mach V BRZ on 18x8.5 Rota D
Wheels are 18.8.5 +48 Rota D in Hyper Black, tires are 235/40R18. (That tire size is 3.2% larger diameter than stock, which is bigger than my rule of thumb of staying within 2% of stock diameter. A better match would be a 245/35R18, which is within 0.5% of the stock diameter. But the strut clearance is kind of tight, so with the 245 tire I might go with the 44mm offset version of this wheel.)

Who stole your other exhaust pipe?
The wheels look good, but yeah +48 is probably a bit too high of offset. |

We took the muffler off for weighing (26 pounds) and to prototype some exhaust options.

Given your experience with your 8.5" width, +48 wheels do you think a +35 offset, 18 x 8.5" wheel with 245s would fit under the fenders? How about with, say, -2.5 degrees of camber all around?
