Oh I see. I thought it wasn't til the 60's that they changed to the 100 series, but it appears I was wrong. Thanks for the correction, and good choice of truck!

I don't really have "dream" cars but I know cars that I'm partial to right now.

1)BRZ
2)Old Mercedes Turbodiesel
3)Toyota Tacoma
4)Volvo 850R
5)Jeep Wrangler.

I know, not very exotic, but I mostly like cars that would be somewhat practical/daily driverable...

Correct, the m3 has a boxy widebody look.

*nod* The cars I would want would certainly vary as my needs change and as what's available changes. That's part of why I had such trouble selecting specific cars (instead of a role with a list of a few examples/options).

I'm just curious as to why you picked an 2002? And only stage 1? Very curious choice, but its your dream garage

Edit: I would've picked atleast a 2003.5 they didn't have the rod bearing problem.

2.) 2012 STi sedan
3.) Ford Raptor (For towing etc.)
4.) Any land rover, they're all awesome
5.) VW jetta TDI for gas mileage

Agreed, major updates to all E46s 2003-2005 make those years a much wiser choice. Must be something particular about that year, color, experience, etc.

I find it amusing that so many people pick the raptor for towing. The payload is stupid low (~1000lbs) and the tow rating is only 8000lbs. Long travel suspensions make for poor haulers.

I was thinking the same thing. The soft suspension is horrible for driving (unless your offroad), I couldn't imagine towing with it

I was, too. A Raptor as the offroader, maybe. But I'm not sure it what I'd choose - might prefer a CJ modded to my preferences (once I get more of a clue about offroading). For tow vehicle, I'm thinking along the lines of an HD pickup - 2500 or 3500, or perhaps more. I'd want something that could tow at least 2 of my other automotive toys in an enclosed trailer with some tires, spare parts, and tools.

For towing that capacity you would need a 3500 or larger. I tow an enclosed 30ft with 1 car and spares with a Chevy 3500 and it does pretty good. As for offroad, it depends on what kind of off road, desert racing and stuff like then I would go raptor, but anything else, or nice cj would be better.

We were actually looking at getting an HD to tow his track car & my track car around. With the trailers we were looking at, a 2500 with diesel should have been sufficient (with the right options). But we're talking dream garage, here, not "what we can get away with in central Houston". I'm actually thinking the HD pickup is on the small side of what I'd end up with for this role. I've seen some petty nice private tractor-trailer setups that include living area, cars, tools, etc.

Oh yeah I forgot we were dreaming. With a dream I would go with Audi's ALMS trailer, with the pop out building and everything

But the 2500 diesel will definetly pull whatever you need, but the dually will help with the trailer sway.

The STi, I will probably enjoy driving the car for the longest time.
As for the Z06 and GT500, they are beasts. High horsepower American cars.
GT-R just because I like them and they are amazing in terms of performance.

The Lamborghini Gallardo... get it twin turbo'd and scare the **** out of myself. Lol
